Thank you Hal i will try to figure something out. It seems when the tray is far back as it can go the front hangs close to an inch or less past the rear seat brackets. i just wanted to know if there was a better way to install it since the back sides leave a gap on each side.

For those of you with a 4 door, how did you do your rear seat arm rest with a new interior? Pics if possible.

Still cannot figure out the rear arm rest. Ordered new interior. Have the metal arm rest with the hook on back. I know it needs foam on top but how does the cloth attach down below the metal of the armrest. I know the seat helps hold it in. Is a thin wooden board supposed to go there to tack it...

The windlace from the top of dash that goes down to the floor is what I am referring to. I'm not sure if the dash has to be removed a little to glue it. But isnt there a rubber tack that goes from underneath dash to the floor to staple windlace to?

How does the rubber tack attach under the dash? About to attach the front wind lace under the dash. Have the dash loose to get it behind it but how exactly does the tack go..any pics would be great

What else holds this arm rest in? 1940 fordor deluxe. Have sound deadener on but is there some thin black board that goes on the sides to cover up everything else?

Think I got it nevermind...

on our 40 Ford with the 12V conversion, we had the generator converted to 12V but my question is what is the best way to wire that up? Its a one wire with a ground added to the voltage reg screw and other end attached to mounting bolt.

I have found out that the wiring harness i ordered had 2 wires that were not correct. it took me longer than i wanted to figure that out but my switch is wired in and all is working correctly...Thank you all again for the help

yes I tested the wire going towards the rear and it is hot.
