    Uphill oil leak

Ford knew there was a problem with oil leaking out the rear main when going up hill. There was a modification done to AA trucks because they were the ones that were doing most of the uphill work and leaking. I believe it is in the service bulletins how to fix that.

    Purchasing an A...red flags

If you are thinking about this, join a local chapter and listen to people who have cars. Decide what you want to do with the car. Daily driver, restoration project etc. Then do you want an open car or closed. If you plan on doing a lot of driving a sedan is a good choice. If you plan on...

    1928 fordoor clutch type

I have been rebuilding a multiple disk clutch for an up coming article. My next project is a redo of a 1928 Phaeton I restored in 1965. I took the multiple disk clutch out at that time, but save all the parts. One of the key components for a smooth clutch is the flywheel. It is grooved and...

    Oil Filtering Advice

I agree on the A-Fordable filters. We have them on several cars and it is nice not to have to change the oil on our long tours. When we reviewed the filters several years ago our concern with that system was the orientation of the filter (sticking out from the side of the engine) we found a Ford...

Prep for Powder Coating of Wheels

I have switched to powder coating. Found it to be much cheaper, less than half of the $85 a wheel cost given earlier in posts. Much harder finish than paint and available in any color.

    Service Bulletin copyright expired?

Copyrights do not expire, nor do trademarks. Patents have an expiration and many assume the others do to, but the writer holds the rights to the piece for ever. Ford get's a little touchy on people reprinting anything with the trademark items.

    Talk to me about wheels......

How about a solution that keeps the original wheels but gives you 50,000 mile tread life, is a radial and a little larger than the tires currently on the car. We have put them on two cars for the article coming out soon, the are Excelsior tires from Coker. They are more money but you get two to...

    Motor Mounts what to do

We reviewed some of the problems with the float a motor mounts a few years back. One of the key problems was people tightening the two pieces together with that center bolt so tight they change the engine position enough to effect the front axle geometry. If you do use them you must keep the...
