OK, Thx for the info. I was thinking of trying some type of hooked tool or screw to snag and pull the seat end of the screen, but having never seen that end of the strainer I was not sure exactly what I was fishing for.

Need advice from anyone with experience removing what's left of the carb fuel inlet strainer. I tried to remove the strainer for cleaning & inspection, but ended up twisting the strainer screen apart so only about 1/3 of it came out with the brass plug. The rest of the screen seems to be stuck...
