    Name that Block

Crummy pictures. At least count the studs required and the width of the main cap studs. And show if a full bellhousing is required over the flywheel.

1935 or 36 Dash Waterfall Question

Late 1936 deluxe with the wood grain dash is where I have seen that layout. Makes a nice clean look in my opinion. Has a chrome roll-out knob also.

I believe the only functional difference is in the thrust bushing design used between the cluster gear and the rear of the case.

Trying to save a "raised deck" v-8 !!!!!!! UPDATED!!

Re: Trying to save a "raised deck" v-8 !!!!!!! Every time I see "raised deck" flathead I laugh. There is nothing "RAISED". Some castings in the 1938-1940 production had a "VOID" of metal around the area of the intake ports. After machining it may appear that the port is higher but it is NOT...

Another reason the hobby is dying out

I have come to pass on maybe 80 % of parts I could use on Ebay just because of listed high shipping costs. I still attend a lot of swap meets to shop and then can get a better feel for the quality and condition also.

33-34 and 35-36 coupe trunk hinges

I've just been going thru this, myself. From what I have found, the cast pivot blocks that mount on the body are the same between 33-34 and 35-36 coupe hinges But the "U" sharped cast pivot arms that fasten to the lids are a little different. The 33-34 pivot arms seem to be a little shorter...

    1935-36 Ford Rear Window Moldings

Have (2) 1935-1936 Ford original rear window interior window moldings. One is for sedans (2 or 4 door) and one is for coupes (3 or 5 window). Both are in very nice straight solid original condition without damage. Would be very good candidates for chroming if desired. The Sedan is $90 and the...

Need 1935-36 Ford Coupe Trunk Hinges

Still looking for at least one of the original curved 1935-6 trunk lid hinge pieces. Does someone have an original one (off a 1935-6 coupe) that they could use to draw a pattern of it, on say a piece of cardboard to mail to me, if I detail some instructions on what I need? I could then...

Need 1935-36 Ford Coupe Trunk Hinges

Need the pair of cast iron trunk lid (not rumble) hinges for a 1936 3-window or 5-window coupe. Should have a faint part number on them starting with "48"--- . Even one good one would help as I have one I could possibly repair with a good one as a pattern. Seem to be the same on both sides for...

Merc crank in a 24 stud pencil test block

Another method to get some idea of the cyl wall core thickness if you have a selection of 24 stud blocks available for comparison, heads off and a variety of longer drill bits of varying diameters. At the bottom of the cyl head block surface, there is a fairly large hole between each of the...

Ford 1933-34 Tudor rear garnish moulding

In my experience, yes, the exposed moldings themselves are the same. But, the 34 standard has a metal attaching clip, spot welded to the molding at the rear while the 33s have an additional hole for attaching with an additional screw.

Finding Babbiting Mains Repair Shop ?

Ya B-O-B, getting the look I want while using parts I have is still going to be expensive. Good "pre" 37 21 studders are hard to find. I want to avoid the water pump cover plates on the 37s. I'm hoping to find a shop I can work with. The 35 block I have currently uses a undersized crank with...

Finding Babbiting Mains Repair Shop ?

I have an uncracked 35 babbit motor with a big chunk out of the rear main (needs rebabbiting and currently bored .040. Have some new .060 flat-top pistons that would go with some very nice original 33-34 alum heads, I have. I live in E. Wash where good, old car-oriented machine shops seem...
