I had a old used flathead i got from someone and i pulled the pan and the screen was clogged solid with dried oil sludge. soaked it in industrial solvent and it didn't touch it. i ended up using oven cleaner and it worked great. i am glad i didn't try to start the engine before i cleaned it out.
