The length of the stick below the pivot ball (inside the trans tower/cover) is the problem of early versus late sticks.

By welding, I mean above the pivot ball. But, I would have to start with the correct lower end of the late stick which I don't even have yet! Steve

Will the internal works from a 1937 - 1939 speedometer work in the speedo case of a 1935-36 speedometer? The placement of the screws and odometers look to be the same, and the sweep looks the same too. Steve

The dealer rep was not correct. The type of pads installed at the plants are available through dealer parts departments for late model vehicles, but at a higher cost and may need to be ordered. Motorcraft pads are not the "factory" pads, but a lower cost replacement. Steve
