A few - maybe QUITE a few - years ago I posted a topic about how to measure backspacing. But since the group got reconfigured, it's probably in the FAQs but I can't locate it. Does anyone have a link or a copy of the article? I didn't keep it in my computer archives.

Perhaps something to consider - a possible alternative is a PowerGen alternator, I had one installed on my '56 about 15-20 years ago. Looks like the generator & used the original brackets. Costly but can't remember what I paid for it back then.

I'm glad to be done with my car. I'd hate to go looking for stuff now. I still have a room full of leftovers that would likely fetch a fair price - and I'm not gonna try & get rich from them. The room I'd have by getting rid of it is worth more to me. I used to sell a lot of stuff on ebay...

Does anyone know of a source for a flexplate for '59-'62 yblock hooked to an FMX transmission? Best I can tell, the original Ford # is B9A-6375-B

I'm not sure, but I think the 332 and early 352 blocks are the same, either EDB or EDC casting #s. I heard or read someplace long ago that the biggest difference in them is the crankshaft and pistons. But someone else here may know more.

Yes based on sources I checked, that is correct for 1959. 332 - 2bbl carb. 352 - 4bbl carb.

Thanks for the info and photos. I waded thru the weeds and chased a few rodents out. Could only get to the driver's side. Seat has 2 switches in front; assuming one is up/down, the other front/back. If or when I sell it, it will be only as a complete assembly.

Thanks for the tip. I'll probably roll the car on its side and cut what's left of the floor out with the seat secured & attached. But won't know till I get to it. Thx.

To Merc Cruzer - not sure if 2 way or 4 but I think it's 4 way. I'll have to take a look at it again. To 54fordlover - yes it's still in the car, buried behind a few others that I plan to strip and scrap what's left, probably in spring. Can't get to any of them this year.
