    Tips for shorter drivers

I've lost over 4 1/2 " in height over the last 10 years. Biggest annoyance was the starter. Reworked starter to a stud with a solenoid start button. Lowered rearview mirror, raised the seat, in my '30 daily driver coupe. Biggest problem is just clambering aboard with two knee replacements some...

    touring cam improvements?

I have read a lot of stuff but nothing tells me what I will experience the day after I install a "touring" cam. I'm now in NH and have some 7% & better lengthy hills to climb. Daily up a steep grade in Franklin to get to my Gym. A 7 mile flat stretch on rt 3 along the Concord River. I have a...

What's the latest you can remember anyone using an A?

I know Joe K, got to change my name now that I'm in NH. I'm putting a heater in my '30 coupe and you will see it daily on the roads just north of the Concord area. On bad weather days I'll stay off the roads because a lot o nuts up here like to tailgate and I run at 5 to 10 above in my second...

What's the latest you can remember anyone using an A?

I drove my '30 phaeton every day to work, about 45 miles. I believe it was in 1978 that we had that fake gas shortage. I even commuted on 495 (had a B engine)you could back then at 55-60 mph. Problem was having to buy gas just about every other day and your last plate number, odd or even...

    Hot water heater

Joe K, the reason I used Brewster town line is due to fact that the Bass River now runs east to west and replaced route 6 as the new canal. It was cheaper than putting a new bridge across the old canal.

    Hot water heater

Come to think of it, you are not allowed to say your from the Cape even if you were born there but live west of the Brewster town line.

    Hot water heater

As to Cape Cod. We were there 20 some years but were never allowed to say "we're from the Cape". If I'd forget, some one would run down our mail box the next day.

    Hot water heater

Eureka! About two weeks ago I made up a like size box from foam board. Even put a little handle on it so I could try it for fit. Drew pix's of vents, etc. Probably spent a half hour every day trying to figure out how to put it on pas. side. Just won't really fit and allow removing floor, etc...

    Hot water heater

originally thought I'd use a minimal marine fresh water pump as I'd tried H/W heaters many years ago. Fellow in the club says the scoop works well for him with older heater. Forgot how huge 3/4" hose is. Plan on using wing nuts to mount & quick disconnect hose fittings. Perhaps that marine...

    Hot water heater

I purchased one of the 7" X 7 1/4" heaters & hose fitting with inner scoop to route hot water to the unit. Having one heck of a time trying to figure how to mount it in my '30 coupe. The choke rod & fuel shut off don't help. The manifold heater is fine on Cape Cod but I'm now in New Hampshire...

    30/31 tudor sedan

Want a good running daily driver. Hydraulic brakes, if possible. Would like in N.Eastern U.S., and driveable, by me, with care, on back roads to NH. I'm also running an add for a coupe, as either one will work for me. dlfreniere27@verizon.net

    Radiator cleaning

Russ, Thanks. Dan does not have the "tank" anymore. I've been placing a few calls in the New Bedford and Worcester areas. I think the old process is the only way to go for these old copper rad's.

    Radiator cleaning

No shops on the Cape "tank" our old radiators anymore. That led to a bad scene last fall. Does anyone know of a shop in eastern Mass. that continues to use the tank process to chemically clean our old rad's? Thank, Don, for Dave Nixon

    Reds Headers' dual exhaust kit

Just finished installing Red's kit in a '41 chassis. We hung the mid straps from a hole drilled in top of outer frame. It does not hang 100% vertical but does the job. Used a scissor jack tween frame & pipe at front of exhaust and the exhaust input bent nicely to near center of the frame cross...

    aluminum finish?

well, that was quite an answer 34 pkup. I'm sorry I used the word "aluminum" as it suggests I'm stupid. I don't read all the posts on the Barn, but of those I have, I've not seen this type of reply. Thank you for your help 34pkup. Bob of Cape Cod had asked a similar question and got an add...
