Sounds like a ground problem - fresh paint on the headlight bar or fenders? Try a temporary ground wire from a headlight mounting stud down to the frame, and see if anything changes. I had to add a ground wire from the horn mount to the frame to get my headlights and horn to behave. (and mine...

Tom, There is a special bushing made for these (it looks like a standard size probe) the bushing will usually be 3/8 or 1/2npt with a seat inside for the probe to seal on. Any (helpful) auto parts store should be able to fix you up - worse case, you may have to buy a "cheap" manual temp gauge...

Probably going to have to hunt down a 6v flasher specifically for LED's, as they (LED) don't draw enough "resistance and/or amps" (somebody will correct me) to make the flasher work correctly. You might try hooking another light into the system and see if it helps
