Does anyone know what thread the choke fulcrum screw is? This is the large headed shouldered bolt that the choke linkage pivots on. Mine has stripped I the carb top and I'd like to helicoil it. Thanks.

Small holes drilled in lids above the float bowl are usually from disused petrol fired heater take-offs. As the take-off isn't there anymore the screw is plugging the hole.

Yes! This is a worm on the bench. Like to see if its worth using before I go to the trouble of fitting it.

Sorry, bad typing. Should have been "suck it and see" ie. is the only way to know if a worm is usable is to set it up in a steering box and see what the play is if any.

Apart form a visual inspection of a steering worm for pitting and such like, is there any other way to check a steering worm to see if its usable other than suck it see?

I'd say the channel is wrong. The repro channels I had were really poor quality yet the studs from Drake were nice. I'd guess the channels are wrong drill the holes bigger.

Heres the same kit fitted to my '36. Brilliant kit, bolts straight on using existing holes, good quality and makes a big difference to car. One of the best upgrades I've done. Shoukdn't take more than a couple of hours to install. I believe the Drake kit is a Chassis Engineering kit.

Thanks. They are original single bar flippers for wide 5's. Clip straight on.

This is mine. I don't know the history on mine as they came with the car, unfitted. I believe they are repro '40. If they are they fit really well.

I have an orignal rear spring that I've just purchased as a replacement for my current rear spring on my '36. It is 2 1/4" wide and about 40 1/2" long, centre to centre spring eye relaxed on the bench. If its not '36 what year is it? Thanks
