A friend has asked me about finding a center top latch for the 53 Sunliner they inherited. I have no idea, can anyone provide any info? Thanks.

mr40s.com has a neat speaker setup for the 40 dash, sets behind the stock grill.

I am on my fourth Custom Auto sound so that should tell you something. I will say that the last two, which are their Secret Audio versions, are better than the first two. But the first two worked fine.

Not fun to install with the doors on the car.

When I was a young high school kid with a 40 sedan [1962] a local 40 guy gave me one of those tools to remove my bushings. I had destroyed several of my Dads craftsman sockets trying to beat them out. Thanks to Craftsman for their replacement policy, although the tool dept guy sure gave me funny...

Alaska Jim I have also had a couple of bad experiences with them in the past, but I have had some recent dealings with them and they seem to be greatly improved.

I am confused as to how the upper garnish moulding weatherstrip is placed across the top of the windshield frame and how the garnish moulding itself sets. I did not dissasemble the car so it is somewhat confusing to me. Can anyone educate me? A picture would be great.

When I put my 40 coupe body back on the frame and friend with a body shop gave me some tips as to where to use the shims to align the doors, but I sure cant recall them now. However, basically I just put shims in and out until the door was where I wanted it. You may as well replace the body...

I am a big fan of Vintage Air but you might take a look at Old Air Products.

Did you lay it out on some newspaper to remove the coating it has on it? I know that I bought one a while back that did the same then someone told me the instructions say to do that. Who reads instructions?

I used a filler called All Metal several years ago to seal some small Pitts/holes in a 40 windshield opening "lip" discovered after paint. Had to replace the wIndshield a couple of years ago and the filler was still doing it's job.

Isn't that a 10" wide tire? Sounds like an 8/8.5 tire would fit better.
