Hello MarkG, Many thanks for the tips, sounds like a good idea. I enjoy looking through all the swap meet adds on the T Ford Barn site just to see pics etc, lots of T gear over there, no surprise there, Ha! Ha,
Cheers,
Geoff
Thanks oliverguy, Ive still a long way to go before I need the coils, so I haven't decided what to do yet, may ending up sending coils to a guy who know what he's doing as I believe that having a correctly set up ignition system would greatly contribute to a "cool" running T Ford, just my...
Thanks CharlieB, Another lot of information I will add to my collection. At least I know a lot more now than when I started thanks to the sharing of information from Model T owners and members, all help gratefully appreciated.
Cheers,
Geoff
Hi redmodelt, Many thanks for the leads, I will check them out, didn't realize that the coils could get so technical and was a bit "shell shocked" after I read one of the leads, I'm a carpenter/draughtsman not an engineering Professor, Ha! Ha!
But I'm always willing to have a go at something...
Greetings to all from DownUnder. Can anyone help me with information on how restore the T Ford coils. Strip down, new capacitor / condenser type etc and any tips.
I had some information many years ago when I had my first T Ford, but it has been lost over the years.
Look forward to hearing...
Way to go Daniel, The smile on your face says it all. I think a lot of us can relate to that moment when we got our first car to Restore, what a feeling, still hasn't diminished for me after more than 40 years, hope you keep the passion.
Keep up the good work Daniel and above all enjoy yourself
Hello fordman67, I must admit that I envy you guys over there in the USA, you have so many amazing barn find of all makes, we don't get anything like that over here.
Just waiting on lotto to make my dreams come true, but not holding my breath, Ha! Ha!
Cheers,
Geoff
Hello Fordman67, Not sure at the moment, I will restore the running chassis and see what bodywork I can round up. Ideally I would love to import a 1919-1920 Coupe body as I have always loved them but will have to sell a few items first.
Meanwhile I will try to source a restorable body over here...
Hi All, I'm having trouble responding to posts, I assume I'm doing something wrong so until I figure out what, then then I'll try to answer everyone as best I can in this one post, so please bear with me.
My friend basically put this car together out of his spare parts so it's not an original...
Hi 15max and Steve Jelf, sat here for 10 minutes typing a reply and when I went to post it, it wouldn't let me post, said I was not signed in, but I was, lost the lot, so will respond to you both later,
Cheers from DownUnder,
Geoff
Hello Dan Johnson, Thank you for your reply and interest. Yes , I decided to go a similar way as time flies by too fast and I'm in the middle of another restoration but wanted to start on the T Ford as well.
I'm a Gemini star sign and like to be doing more than one project at a time. If...
Hello Andrew, No, the motor will need to be striped down and checked, most likely have to be rebuilt.
I'm not too worried about that as I have organized with another new friend to purchase a "wet" T Ford motor, this one will run with a bit of maintenance. I was planning on getting my T...
Hello Jack Innes and J Franklin, Thank you both for your advice and recommendations.
I can get Eucalyptus and also an ash species here in Australia, but would like to try an imported Timber just for a new experience.
I've checked what's available here in Queensland and I can get an imported...
