I made my own Mirror Assembly that attaches to the shaft of the Cowl Lights that goes thru the body, made it up of Stainless steel 3/8 ths SS Rod and a piece of SS plate, that I shaped and drilled a hole for the Cowl Lamp shaft cut a slot in the end of the SS rod and put the plate in the end...

I would use the Paste solder Flux and a good grade of solder 50/50 or Better :)

I would think , Clean both sides of the Plate on a small wire wheel and the Brass shaft and Sweat Solder the shaft in place, both sides, it can always be reheated and moved if desired at any time , nothing will get damaged MHOpinion .. R:)

I am looking for the "Red Liquid" or Substitute for the Hydrostatic Gas Gauge on my 1934 Ford Car and Info re Installing the liquid,( if I can find the Red liquid ),I have flushed and cleaned the Gauge, installed a New copper Air line from the tank to the Gauge, any info re the calibration...

I have the same problem, I changed the base and used new gaskets, one thing I did was, I added a small amount of Valve lifter oil to the Gas tank to try and stop a noisy valve lifter or lifters, everything was good and the car ran very smooth , then the carb and the base started to weep a lot ...

My fix was , went to a Shop for Nuts & Bolts, Got a long sleeve that was a 10/24 thread , threaded the Two Rod ends with a 10/24 Die (Carb end and the Dash Knob end) ,you can adjust the proper Rod lengths by turning the Threaded sleeve, then attach to the Carb. :)

I Found that Testors Enamel # 1111 Dark Blue was a very good match, Shops that sell Models sell the paint, here in Canada , Toys R Us has the Testors Paint.

Hi Classic... I made a Battery Compartment floor cover, made a pattern from a piece of cardboard,I trimmed it until I had a good fit, then make a nice plywood plate from the pattern , varnished the plywood and put it in place , there should be twist locks on the floor to hold the new plate in...
