Just make sure your valve under the tank isn't leaking. On one of my Tudors I would shut the gas valve off & let it run till it quit. Next morning I would still smell gas in the garage. Turns out the valve had a very small leak. I bought a valve rebuild kit just to find out that the repop...

Thanks!

To replace the zinc running board molding- is that a snap fit or does the molding slide on from one end? We just got down to South Carolina for the Winter last Sat. I unloaded "Martha" from the trailer & decided to go see a local Model A'er. I signaled my right turn (no elec. turn signals) and...

Thanks to everyone. Here's what I did-- pulled plugs & cleaned them-set gap at .035 - cleaned & reset points at .20. Good fuel flow from tank. Started it up and let it idle for a while. I also removed the gas cap. Ir ran, but not well. I backed it out of the garage and took about a 1/2...

I run w16Y's as well-what gap setting do you use?

Got my 29 Fordor out today for the final run before winter storage. Ran a little rough at first, but it was cold last night-we had a frost. The car is in an unheated garage. Anyway, the rough running didn't clear up after the car warmed up. In fact it started acting like it was starving for...

I would highly recommend Antique Engine Rebuilders in Skokie, Il. They just rebuilt my short block(8/2017) with some minor extra repairs for $2355. The freight both ways was around $227. That was from NW Pa. to Skokie, Il. They are great to deal with and very helpful during the process...

Dave, I am a Pa. resident as well. I have purchased several vintage cars(including Model A's) from out of state. Where in Pa. are you located? Shoot me a PM and we can discuss the matter further.

I have 3 Model A's with the HC head. To me, there is a noticeable difference in climbing hills with the HC heads. Not really any faster, but long steep hills in 3rd gear are not a problem. I just had Ant. Engine Rebuilding redo the short block on my 29 Tudor and I added a Snyder's 5.5 to 1 HC...

Try double clicking on the black box. It worked for me.

Thank you Bob. Where did you get the mirror?

I did a search, but I can't find a vendor who sells the hinge pin mirrors for Vicky's and S/W's. Bert's apparently has the correct size pin, but not the mirrors. I would really like to have at least a left side outside mirror on our Victoria. Any help would be appreciated. Smitty:confused:

I found one-thanks!;)

Thanks guys! I bought a thread file from NAPA. After working with the thread file and a small flat file, I got it squared away. I must have boogered up the castle nut that came with the water pump as well as the shaft threads. After my filing on the shaft threads the original castle nut...

I have a Leakless water pump from Snyder's-the sealed unit no lube. I needed to remove the fan (alum 2 blade) to grind down the end of the housing for a little more pulley clearance. When I smacked the fan removal tool with a hammer, it wasn't on straight and boogered up the threads at the...

Thank you everyone!

What if any are the differences between the 4 cyl. Ford put in the AA trucks and the standard cars? Thanks

Marc, In the instructions in bold print it says, "Only the generator 3rd brush assembly will be adjusted and under no circumstances should the 3rd brush assembly be set for more than 15 amps of charge". Hope this helps. Smitty

Thanks!

Thanks and glad to here it works so well!:)
