how did you install the rear molding so nicely?

Are all the moldings painted black or body color?

how did you bend and shape the metal moldings without crimping them. I forcefully nailed as I bent the base down but the cap refuses to stay in its slot. Any help? Barnyard does not go into any detail on this they just say apply the molding like you just snap it on and your done.
