Does it really take 40 - 60 hrs to polish a windshield?

It is my understanding that if you can catch your finger nail in the scratch it most likely not be able to be polished out.

    Headlight mounting issue

That headlamp bar looks like the stamped one that was only used for a very short time in 1930. The forged ends sometimes broke and were not re-welded in the right position. From the photo that is what I came up with.

    Not a Pleasent Experience

I sold cars for 50 years. The newer cars have so many blind spots that they NEED back up cameras. There are also many older folks that have arthritis and have a real hard time turning their head. I would get it fixed at a good shop or fix it yourself and move on.

    5/16 Bolts

I believe the bump holds the bolts in place until you lay the running boards in place. I would use the old bolts if they are in good condition.

Sediment bowl--am I missing some thing

Maybe some of the coments used here are because they don't have the Restoration Guidelines that point out some of the details that make some of the parts worth more than the average one removed off a car that sat in a field for 50-60 years. If they spent $25.00 for the book then they could join...

Merger again considered, Credible opinions requested

It is my understanding that you can belong to either or both National clubs with out belonging to a local club. The two different magazines are more than worth the dues even if you are not a active member. The techinical articles and the swap and for sale are great resources.

    Door hinge screws

Those cupped washers look like the floor board washers and I think they are larger than the original hinge washers. I wouls use the star washers and finish your car unless you are going for fine piont.

I understand that some restorers used the coil spring out of a ball point pen or something similar. Larry Machack from the Cabriolet Club does have some of the parts shown.

    Annoying Rattle - Update

I had a tudor that the door hinge was hitting the door panel and making a noise. I checked all the hinge screws and found some were loose. I did find one that I had to file a little off the hinge or door panel so they didn't touch each other. Some are hard to find . There is also something in...
