    Uhaul Auto Transport & Tudor

U-hauls auto transport trailer towed smoothly for me and the brakes worked great. Only hitch, their wheel straps...one came loose with me also. I did have my own straps installed, one for each wheel secured on axle next to wheels. I'd use the U-haul trailer again...

Magnet is placed beside the fuel shut off valve under tank (outside). The magnet can be removed at any time. Periodically before filling tank look inside for debris. If some is found, remove debris with another magnet such as one on a telescopic probe. Another way to remove debris is by...

The black rubber strips that come with the pinch clamps did not work for me. Glass slid down and out of the clamps on first outing. Replaced the black rubber with 3-M gray double sided body molding adhesive strips. Its also important to ensure the pinch clamps are parallel to the glass...

    Cleaning Gas Tank 'in place'

Magnets recovered from a discarded computer hard drive are very strong and work great. Just don't get your fingers pinched when placing the magnet. Locate the magnet near the fuel shut off valve where collected debris may be seen and recovered from gas cap filler neck.

    Fog light bulbs

The PAR 46 means the lamp is parabolic shaped and 46 eights of an inch in diameter. So 5-3/4" is its diameter. Having the lamp number or blown lamp should be easily crossed to a replacement by a sales rep.

    Transmission Conversion

If buying a Mitchell Syncro Trans there is an option to have the shift lever bent slightly toward the passenger side. This option provided more driver leg room for my car. Would think a std shift lever could be bent in similar fashion.

Can not shift to 2nd or 3rd gear

Hard or unable to shift into 2nd was resolved on my car by rebuilding shift tower. Not a hard job. Problem was 2nd/3rd shifter fork square slot was worn noticeably. That plus shifter ball wear would not allow proper shift.

    29 Fordor Gas Tank Removal

Our Oct '29 Briggs TS (155B) Fordor did not have the wood mentioned. It does have close to sixty 1/4-20 fasteners. Dash rail remained intact. Steering column was unbolted from tank and frame but not removed from car. Tank came down and out with much effort working alone (crazy me). Was able...
