    Brads Woodshop FOR SALE

What Karl has outlined very succinctly is not impossible. It can be done. This is too good a resource to let die. I can attest to Brad's work - it's excellent!

32 Ford can't remove key from column drop

Nice looking column drop. Even though it's not a 32 part, it still should work OK since the problem seems to be only with the lock cylinder/key function.

    Axle Housing Repair Sleeve

Mercman, What is the wall thickness of those sleeves? From the condition of the packaging, those sleeves look very old. Any idea of their vintage? Just curious about when such sleeves became available. John

    Axle Housing Repair Sleeve

The IR-2916 inner ring for a needle bearing has an OD of 2.0625 OD like the Ford axle housing. The ID of the IR-2916 is 1.8125, so the Ford axle housing has to be cut down about 1/8" (1/4" on the diameter). Being only 1.0 inch long, two of the IR-2916s would be needed on each side. Two of the...

    Axle Housing Repair Sleeve

IR-2016 is 1.5" ID. They sure won't sleeve the 2 1/16 axle housing! The earlier post showed a photo of IR-2916.

    Axle Housing Repair Sleeve

The diameter of the bearing stub on the Ford axle housing would need to be cut down by 0.094" to fit the NU 1010 bearing inner race. Undoubtedly the ID of the hub would need to be either cut or sleeved to fit the bearing outer race. Since the inner race has no flanges to constrain rollers, the...

    Paint for my 32 Ford

The first place I'd try is TCP Global. They were very helpful when I sourced paint for my 32 Tudor. In any case, the original Ditzler code for the "Brewster Green Medium" color (real dark) is IM-328. You also may be able to get paint from your local automotive paint supplier using the Ditzler...

Tech 101: Oil Viscosity Versus E85 > From Hemmings

Interesting article. However, I doubt any of us are using E85, especially in our carbureted engines. There also may be reasons other than fuel dilution not to use E85.

    Uvira Headlight Reflector Coating

Vacuum Orna-Metal only refinishes plastic parts, no metal parts. They do refinish headlight reflectors, but only the modern, plastic ones - on which they deposit chrome. Their results look very reflective in photos even though electroplating chrome on our antique metal reflectors reportedly...

    Wheel cylinder lube

Raybestos used to sell an assembly fluid for wheel cylinders. I got some a few years ago. Very useful when rebuilding cylinders and then not using them right away.

'32 gas tank pick up and setwart-warner float

The 1 1/4+ inch float diameter in that linear sending unit requires the use of a pick up somewhere outside of the tank hole. Using one of the mounting screw holes is an elegant solution to that problem. OTOH, the swing-arm type float units seem to have plenty of room within the 1 1/2" tank hole...
