Today I removed and cleaned out the light switch assembly at the bottom of the steering column. It was full of gunky grease/oil.. It was nasty to say the least. Now my horn works all the time. It also fixed the high beams issue. :)

Just a fix, Mike.

I just found a small gas leak in this particular area. I think I screwed up by adding a rubber bushing to the steering shaft. It has a very small crack on the solder. No wonder there's a strong gas odor inside the car. What is the best fix for this? :( Sorry, didn't mean to highjack this thread.

They said it needed inspection because it was an out-of-state car.

The VIN number on the chassis matches the title certificate but the engine doesn't.

Thanks CarlG.. I agree. I think the engine has been replaced. But weird thing is that the out of state (Colorado in this case) title certificate shows a different VIN number on it. Is that going to be a problem when CHP inspects it?

No, it never freezes here in So Cal where I'm at. The lowest it gets in the winter is 40 degrees. Yeah, I've been pulled in 20 million different directions when it comes to the type of radiator coolant and mixture I should use. I think I'll run water only with a tad of coolant in it.
