Greasing/packing front and real wheel bearings.

I have a 1936 Ford Phaeton and I'm slowly getting it ready to hit the road after sitting for a few years. However I do have a problem. Can someone direct me to instructions on how to remove the front and rear wheel bearings so I can clean and repack them? I know it must be a simple thing to do...

    Looking for a restoration company.

Thanks, I'll check those companies out. I appreciate the "Just drive the car and enjoy it" comments, but it's hard to enjoy a car that overheats, has electrical problems, and may need new brakes. I'd also like to show it and the interior and pitted chrome leaves a lot to be desired.

I worry about the chassis, there are some electrical issues, interior needs to be redone, much of the chrome is badly pitted, and even though the paint looks good on the pictures it has some real issues.

    Here is the car.

    Looking for a restoration company.

I've inherited a '36 Ford Phaeton that I think would be a pretty nice car if it was restored properly. My father in law had the car before he died, and would have things done piecemeal at bargain barn prices. It runs nice but I don't trust the mechanical brakes. I haven't seen very many of...

    Flag hood ornament

The one I have is for five flags but it looks something like this. Also, it doesn't have a slot but a single hole at the bottom.

    Flag hood ornament

I bought a five flag hood ornament at a swap meet, but the thing didn't have any installation instructions. Can anyone tell me how to put it on?

Cooling system problems on my '36 Phaeton.

Seems no matter what I've done the car still overheats. I sent the waterpumps to Skip Haney and he rebuilt them but after I installed them it still overheated sitting in my garage with a box fan in front of it after about 15 minutes. I took it out for a drive and the temperature dropped to...

    OK, I'm really stuck.

It's got some dents but not too bad. I checked the inside as best I could and it looked pretty darned clean. If the water pumps don't help then having the radiator worked on is my next project.

    OK, I'm really stuck.

I've decided to give George "Skip" Haney a call tomorrow and send my pumps to him to rebuild. My '36 overheats really bad and I'm hoping the modified pumps will do the trick.

    OK, I'm really stuck.

Well, the bulb came loose and it looks ok minus a few scratches. I'm going to test it to see if it still works. Thanks everyone.

    OK, I'm really stuck.

The holding nut came out easily and I'm trying to get the bulb out. I squirted in some penetrating oil but I wasn't sure if there was something I wasn't doing right.

    OK, I'm really stuck.

I'm removing the water pumps from my '36 Phaeton and I don't know how to remove the temperature sending unit. Is there a trick to it or is it frozen in place because I can't get it to move.

Top boot for a '36 Phaeton.

I just received my top boot for my '36 today with all the hardward, and it looks great! The problem is it didn't come with any instructions on how to install it. I called them and they said they didn't have any instructions for the boot. So my question is does anyone know where I can find...

    Oil pan gasket.

How extensive of a process is this and are there places that can do this in Florida?

    Best Towing Vehicle

I wouldn't recommend a Tahoe. I have a Tahoe and I feel like I'm dragging a parachute behind me even though my 22 foot enclosed featherlite trailer has a "V" front. On a trip from Florida to Alabama I only got 8 miles to the gallon and less in the hills. I'm considering switching back to a...

OK, I'm an idiot but rear main what?

    Oil pan gasket.

Yeah, that was my first thought too. The instruction manual said to soak it and I made the assumption I was supposed to soak it in oil since it was an oil gasket.

    Oil pan gasket.

Well, I got the cork gasket in with little to no problems and everything fit snug and tight. I put in the required five quarts of oil and cranked it up letting it run for about 15 minutes with no leaks. I took it out for a drive and when I got back I noticed it was leaking again about one drop...

    Oil pan gasket.

Thanks Al. I was referring to the thick rear cork gasket.
