    Radio Controller

A blue tooth speaker sitting on the package tray. Great sound and listen to any radio station in the word for free. Also you can answer the phone hands free. Have a power inverter wired in to keep them charged. However most of the time I prefer to listen to the car.

How old is too old to work on Model A's???

If it takes you two hours to change one spark plug that is better than two hours in front of the Computer or TV

    Milled Head?

I remember hearing/reading somewhere that the early heads were a little higher compression than the later ones. Not enough to be noted however. Dont know if that is true.

    Milled Head?

Years ago when I installed my Snyder's High Compression Head. I took note of this. The chamber shape was a more definite hart shape compared to the early 1928 Head. I installed a spark plug in the Heads and flipped them upside down and level. Using a syringe I filled the combustion...

Brake drum (axle) retainers for Model A Mechanical Braking

Re: Brake drum (axle) retainers for Model A Mechanical raking Well I installed my hub retainers. I opted to install them on the bottom as there is lots of room down there.

    Pinion backlash

So first try I put that odd .002" of an inch on the left side and ended up with .006" of backlash. Thanks for your imput.

    Pinion backlash

Installing a 3:54 gearset. After getting my preloads done I am at the point of setting the backlash on the pinion. I have the carrier within .002 of dead center of the banjo with the axle housings installed. I just wanted to ask which way you shifted your carrier to find that sweet spot. Or...

Brake drum (axle) retainers for Model A Mechanical Braking

Re: Brake drum (axle) retainers for Model A Mechanical raking Thought I would make up the retainers before I dropped the rear end. There is quite the angle on the back of the retainer to follow the contour of the backing plate. The cage nut...

Brake drum (axle) retainers for Model A Mechanical Braking

Re: Brake drum (axle) retainers for Model A Mechanical raking Seems like not done too often. But I think it would be a good idea. I will bend some up and post them mounted when I get around to it.

Brake drum (axle) retainers for Model A Mechanical Braking

Re: Brake drum (axle) retainers for Model A Mechanical raking That is a 1932 hydraulic backing plate that is flat and has bolts to mount the brake cylinder. The model A has a dished backing plate. No bolts in that position either. Just rivets for the brake springs are there. Different beast...

Brake drum (axle) retainers for Model A Mechanical Braking

I am gearing up to change my ring and pinion to 3.54s this spring in my 1930 coupe with original mechanical brakes. Over the years its always been in the back of my mind what if a Axle broke and my Hub ran off. So I am thinking of making up some Axle retainers and install them while I am at...

Run that flex pipe into a old 5 gal oil pai buried in the ground. Then a piece of pipe to take it to daylight. Suprising how quiet they run
