35 - 36 Ford Pickup Front Fender Hole Question

Ngnear22...The picture Mr. Rogers posted appears to be of the early 35 pickup front fender that had the "bar" across the bottom of the slot for the bumper brackets. The bumper bracket slot was open on the bottom on later 35's and the 36/7 pickups. The holes you asked about are the same. Good...

1939 Ford TRUCK Reference Book Form 7068

I have a nice, not perfect, 1939 Ford TRUCK Reference Book. It is an OEM, not a copy. It is the one they would have put in the glovebox of a new truck when purchased with the various owner maintenance information and the like. I do not own a 39 TRUCK and have no use for the manual. I do not...

    37 Ford Pickup Radiator

Try sending a personal message to v8fordman here on Fordbarn. He has both 37 and 39 pickups. I do not personally think that a 39 radiator will work on a 37 pickup because the radiator filler on the 37 pickup comes out through the top of the grill and the 39 is under the hood. That may explain...

    In memory of Lawson Cox

Thank you for letting us know and for posting the obituary. Lawson and I knew each other for about three decades. My wife and I stopped off to see him various times, and he and Jerry came to our home back when they were collecting information and pictures for the pickup book they were working on...

    1935 pickup spare tire mount

The pictures shown are not for a 35-half ton. The 35 spare holder rod is a one-year item and was used with the 35 wire wheel with the small bolt pattern. The one shown is for a 36 and 37 and went with the wide-five bolt pattern wheel. The 38 and 39 are different yet again.

Is there a difference and IF so, what

I have had several pairs of the shorter headlight stands. Ford made a spacer so that the headlights would work with the shorter stands and the regular length headlight mount. I have a couple of pairs of the spacers but no longer have any of the shorter stands.

    Traction compound

Ron 1959...It sounds like a potentially expensive undertaking. 60 years ago, we used bleach like Kube suggests and often reduced the tire pressure in the rear tires a bit to get more traction if doing a friendly street race with typical stock vehicles. Not much weight in the back of a pickup for...

    1935/36 pick up

On a US model pickup, the 35 grill is not as wide front to back looking at it from the side. I do not know if the radiator fill hole will align with the top of the radiator, but if you have the grill in hand, you could check the measurement. The grill ornaments at the top on a 35 and 36 will not...

    Parts order dilemma

Ford 38V8...My wife's medical provider charges a fee if you do not show up for an appointment without cancelling. When they call to confirm appointments, they have one of those recordings stating that this appointment time has been set aside especially for her. When you arrive 15 minutes early...

    1935 Ford pickup question....

the 36 ford pickup....The quick answer is that the 35 pickup did have both garnish molding doors and the ones without the garnish moldings. They also had both types of front fenders, the ones with closed at the bottom bumper arm holes and the ones that were open at the bottom that you see on 36...

    Odd Bolts?

Kens 36...The battery bolts pictured are for the passenger cars. The ones for the pickups are two different lengths, both longer than the passenger car ones. The ones for pickups are also scarce.

1936 Ford Delux PU and a Dump Truck

Model 51...I do not believe nelsb01 meant a fender mounted spare but a running board mounted spare on the driver side. I have had two of the driver side running boards with the spare dimple that would fit a 35-37 pickup. One of them I bought out of Nebraska, and I do not remember where I got the...

    Ford cafeteria tray?

My wife and I were at the Ford and Mercury Restorers Club meet in Belleville, MI years ago and several of the local venders had them for sale. One of the friends of mine from my trips up there gave me one. I used to enjoy going up there, I figured if you couldn't find a Ford part in Detroit...

Chris Haynes...I like your quote on your post that says, "Speed costs money. How fast do you want to go?" It ranks up there with, "Never enough time to do it right; always enough time to do it over."

    1937 Pickup/Truck Glove Box Compartment

I have had three of the metal glovebox liners that fit a 35/37 pickup/truck. They were not exactly as v8fordman's shown in the picture, with none of them having what looks like a divided compartment like the one shown in the picture. The three I have had all came out of Kansas and Nebraska. I do...

    Flathead Engine Stand

Flathead Fever...Nice looking base that you made. I had an opportunity to buy a KR Wilson stand with the rolling base several years ago, so I bought it along with the larger flathead adapter and another adapter as well as a KRW brake/clutch rebuilding machine. The trays at the bottom of the base...

    1939 truck parking lights

ActionYobbo...The headlight stands shown by 51504bat are the same as the 38/9 pickups except for the lights in the stands. They require no fender modifications to use them. Some of the people I know use them on 38/9 pickups not for parking lights but for turn signals. Good luck with your project.

39 truck front floor help needed with parts diagram

Do you still have the toe board (metal piece the pedals go through) that was original to the truck? They used at least three different ones in the 39.
