Relining a 1941 Lincoln Brake Drum

The other drum is the standard 12" size and is in perfect condition, so I do not want to turn that one undersize. In this area in the 50's and 60's it was possible to buy relined Brake Shoes in 30, 60, and 90 thousands oversize. Today they are only available in standard sizes, so used with...

Relining a 1941 Lincoln Brake Drum

I have called J&G Brake Drum Relining, and questioned them on the need to remove the hub, and the reply was they just wanted to do it and charge a additional 45.00 plus new studs and bearings. These drums are very shallow and it just seems unnecessary to me, to remove the hub and swagged...

Relining a 1941 Lincoln Brake Drum

I have contacted J&G Brake Drum Relining about relining one of my 41 Lincoln Drums and they tell me they would be removing the hub from the drum. Car lift

I built a way of lifting the front of my car when using my four post lift. I inverted my sliding jack tray and welded in some receiver tubes that fit the 1" threaded rod with a C channel welded to the top side, a large nut with two bolts welded to each side. Drive the car on the hoist, raise it...

The switch on the radio is frozen and will not move, and it is in the on position so when energized the radio works, but cannot be shut off and the volume cannot be changed. Why do Lincoln brake drums have one pointed stud? Bruce?

Maybe it was because in the forties wheels and tires were balanced on the car and you could mark the wheel where the pointed stud was, and reassemble the wheel and tire on the same pointed stud to maintain your balance. Anyways that's what I've been doing for years.
