    Transporting a car

I used Western Auto Transport to haul my 39 Ford PU from Reno, NV to Henderson, CO and I was very satisfied with the whole experience including the $1,000 charge. Money well spent and timing was excellent. Will use them again when I find something I need to transport. Allan

I get a hum in radio but does not play

Alan, You're right. We are about a half hour south of Greeley and a half hour north of Denver. Some of the best Rocky Mountain Oysters are cooked at the Indian Hills Café right off Route 285. You betcha! Damn, now its on my mind and I'll have to stop and get some on my way to my son's place...

Does lack of an 800 Telephone number deter ordering from parts houses?

800 number is not a priority for me. I use my cell phone and call whatever phone number is shown. I have no problem with a non 800 number. My vote is to drop it. Allan

procedure for pulling a flathead and trans together

I agree with Ken Bull's procedure. I have been pulling flatheads since 1957 and have always used the same system as Ken is suggesting. The only variation I used was no "safety" chains. (Dumb me!) Never dropped an engine but just lucky, I guess. I am getting ready to replace the clutch in my '39...

Curious: How many here still subscribe to Hemmings?

I agree with Vic. I have been a Hemmings subscriber since 1955 but I just this week made the decision to give it up because of the small print which is hard to read but, just as important, is that the internet has plenty to read. Besides, Hemmings has too many foreign vehicle articles which...
