I used to have that arrangement in my 34. It looked strange but also means you have your master cylinder on the fire wall.

I would check timing using vacuum gauge. Adjust distributor to optimize vacuum reading. (I think the attachment is for gauge readings, if not search on Ford Barn)

Re: ‘36 LB. temp ranges, thermostats? Not for me. I advance or retard distributor. I actually have no brake on at all. Again, I do this as a result of previous postings.

I don’t know where I got this from but I have used several times. It has no identification. It fits in the engine with the intake manifold removed. Sorry I don’t have any pictures of in use. Anybody have any ideas ?

I am a believer in the vacuum gauge. I don’t have any experience with Pertronix so I am not sure if this negates gauge use. What reading do you get ?

When I replaced bearings in my 34 I purchased through Joblot Automotive (no longer in business). They supplied Timken bearings and they match up with what you have posted.

Sorry I failed to mention I have returned to original coil and condensor (tested) and resistor is connected. Carb is 97 and I will be looking at it further as it still seems to be leaking from plunger at times. Vacuum is steady. It's raining here today. Probably won't get on the highway until...

I have had some success with my distributor problem. Observe the taper on the offset cam connect. I replaced with another that was rectangular and am now getting a reasonable vacuum 22. A short drive is encouraging. Once I get insurance on I will give it a highway run. Let you know.

I found that warming oil first helps a lot.

As a matter of curiosity, my keyed door lock is on the passenger side. Is this correct? What is the reasoning for this?

I pulled plugs. They were as described then cleaned and gapped. I haven't run car other then test. No improvement.
