    SPRING ALMOST DONE MORE help

I've used a pry bar or two to get the spring into the pocket, then lower the vehicle down and square up the bolt head. Sometimes its a fight but it can be won.

    Brake Rod Anti Rattler

I have had better luck with the "wire type" return or anti-rattle springs. The flat spring steel units push very well for about a month and then break right where they bolt up. If you do not adjust the rods length at all your brakes will function the same as before. But it's a good time to look...

    Front Frame Crossmember

This happens quite often after years of service the metal just gives up. This is when you can use what the Hot Rodders don't want, left over running gears and frames.

    Hand throttle notches

The throttle and advance handles are held under spring tension at the lower end of the steering column. If the springs have weakened, the tension can be lost and the handle has no down ward push on the notched plate. I guess one could replace the springs with new ones, or insert some washers...

    Fuel Tank Purchase

For a fairly good mechanical clean, I have strapped tanks to a cement mixer loaded with glass beads blasting media, small screws, and nuts and sealed off. Run it on the mixer for four hours and the flip the tank and run it again. ( Keep a count of the screws and nuts for later retrieval) You can...

    Barrett Jackson Scottsdale

I caught the "country sedan" too and was muttering about the misnomer so much the wife finally had enough and left the room. LOL Also saw a beautiful Red GTO Pushed to the bottom of the ramp after bringing at least 35,000. Suddenly the steering wheel no longer worked and they cut to the stage...

    Engine pans

I had a set of original pans for the 31 AA and must say I was impressed with the amount of air blowing out the hood louvers after installation. I found the heat inside the cab was greatly reduced as the air was venting through the hood as it should rather than into the firewall and down to the...

    AA body building

Nice start David! but I think its all up to your imagination now. I would hunt out old truck body styles and see what you like or what would be most serviceable to your needs and build it from there. Remember most truck body builders were accomplishing custom work for there customers and...

    Having Fun With it?

X2 on the safety while inflating split rims. I built a remote fill hose giving me about six feet of separation from the wheel while filling the tubes, and about eight wraps of cable around/through the rim. I also make sure no one else is around the wheel while I am filling it. Looks like a cool...

    1928 Oil Pan

If offers marginal help in cleaning as it is still too small to get your hand in there to ensure all the sludge is gone. Another draw back is the cork gasket for the access cover is prone to drip and weep as it is trying to hold back the entire contents of the oil pan. As was said if you are...

29 special coupe top and wood

I thought I could reproduce the original pieces from what was left on our 28 Special Coupe The first set were undersized as the wood had shrunk over the years, the second set was better and made from every scrap of hardwood I could find. I remember we ended up buying the roof ribs just because...

    Removing windshield question

Nope should not "unhook" but should slide out. I use two people one to receive, the other to push. Some times a few wacks with a rubber mallet to get it moving. Oh and lube the hinge well before you try. Good luck!
