Thank you guys for all the help ! I got the car up and running a couple of days ago, about 50 miles so far. And everything seems ok. I´m afraid to drive faster than 40 right now but I`m sure I`ll blow up some more parts during the summer. For now I`m just gonna enjoy !

Thanks ! It looked as it was doable removing the rod from the underside. My head gasket is leaking quite a bit so I might still go that route, haven´t made up my mind yet. Good to know it´s an option. Could you explain what you mean by taking off the end cap ? how would that help with the end...

That actually make my feel a whole lot better than to think the engine has sat without oil for 50 years. The cam has a lot of spot`s but not so much wear. Still wondering if it is possible to remove the rod from the underside of engine?

Yes I meant play up and down, not sideways. All the rods have sideways play like normally rods have. 1,2,3 is tight up and down. 4 is 2mm up and down. Unscrewed the rod cap, no shims that I could see. So removing any is impossible. at 2mm of play that would be a lot of shims to remove and I...

Bought a new clutch. Wasn't all that expensive. Will be pulling the engine one of these days. I'm gonna drive the car alot, seemed like the best option, will be tuning the engine too, so having a great will save me from a lot of grief. Thank's for all the help!
