    31 Taillights

I was at a flea market yesterday and bought a Ford Model A book by Jim Schild. Interesting reading. One statement in the book says that Ford authorized dealers to install a right side taillight in Sept 1930 as an option to enhance safety (and profit). I have never seen one on an unrestored...

    What is it???

What a great post, and a fantastic learning exercise. I think that I have a similar version in my valve grinding set, and didn't know what it was. Thanks all.

    windshield frame

I have a 31 Tudor. It is an older restoration by a couple of owners back. The windshield frame is aluminium and I did not realize it until I was adjusting the weatherstripping and exposed an unpainted portion. It certainly is good enough for me. Jim.

Is This Enough Sealer for the Head Gasket?

You won't have to re torque the head with all that "elastic " silicone in there. Probably a time saving measure!

    Ever wonder?

Forever 4, did you ever call that correctly. it is highly evident that the people designing anything new never held a screwdriver or did anything manual in their lives. Up here I am starting to see a consumer backlash against new foreign made plastic junk. This includes products from the...

    Water pump bypass hose

good afternoon. I am in the process of changing all of the hoses on my 60 T'bird which has the standard 352 engine. The bypass hose looks like it is going to be interesting! I have read about cutting the old one out to save the nipples, and about folding the new hose to get it in,but no one...

    model B rods

Good morning. I have been cleaning up parts and starting to assemble the B engine that I got a few weeks ago. It is a diamond block with forged counterweight crank. The Babbitt was done by shop unknown for previous owner. The connecting rods are babbitted and have an oil well cut in the...

    Oil Pumps

Good morning Bob. I think you are right on the money with your opinion. After getting your post, I went to the shop dismantled 11 oil pumps. All of them had the larger OD bushing, and only 2 had the relieved shaft. I measured the oil discharge holes and the round ones were all two holes of...

    Oil Pumps

Thanks Benson. Was the housing with the rectangular oil exit holes also used in the later model A engines? A large number of the pumps that I have are of this style and came out of A blocks. I know that they could easily have been changed, but most also have the 1/2 inch shaft? I really do...

    85,000 in 1 month. not Model A

I guess that everyone except me likes them? When I heard they were coming, I ordered a new 2014 with a steel body and the biggest F&$@!?@ motor that I could get. they look way too generic for my liking, and it will take 5 years to see how they react to the road salt, and if the paint will stay...

    Oil Pumps

Steve , Wow you sure said it! I guess that I should be more specific in what I am doing. I have a B block with the forged on crankshaft weights. It came disassembled without all of the parts. Therefore I am trying to gather up what I need to assemble it. This is what brought about the oil...
