Yes, the door is open. I was able to use a screwdriver to pry the latch from inside. I believe all the screws are accounted for. I am hesitant to pry too hard. It is also hard to get anything between the door panel and the frame lip. Paul

I use a Harbor Freight magnet, #67156, in the channel at the rear of the hood, against one of the bolt heads. I wrap it in rubber tape to protect the edges of the hood. Paul

I have one of these on my 1930 Town Sedan with a good Zenith carburetor. It seems to work fine, with no noticeable side effects. As far as I can tell, it does not make the engine run rich. I would actually prefer a larger K&N filter, but this seems to work OK. Paul
