I had the same problem - the top of my pump had a slight casting bump and the new fan blade was rubbing on it. A little file work on the pump fixed mine. Mark

Here is the information as I know it for a Model A engine Mac's for example has a cheat sheet to use http://macsautoparts.com/ford-model-a-specifications-page/camid/MDA/ca/215/#engine Bore 3.875 Stroke 4.250 Giving this...

I am not familiar with the history of my motor, or Model A motor replacement parts in particular. The top of each piston has a 40 stamped in it. Is this a standard after market practice for a .040 overbore piston? Thanks Mark

To Tom's comment, I saw a guy at a show with a "rat rod" A who made barbed wire it looked like out of 12-2 wire and used that for his connections. I didn't notice how he had it jammed in there, but it had character at least and he drove it there. Got a coathanger :-) ... kidding Mark

You should check out these vendors - and there are more http://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/modelaparts http://www.mikes-afordable.com/ http://www.brattons.com/default.asp?cookiecheck=yes& http://www.modelastore.com/ but I think a coil wire is a coil wire - as long as it is long enough and...

Read #7 great comment from H.L. http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104664&highlight=clean+gas+sock

Looking to fix/repair my Generator I took off that was having issues. Hot to the touch and ran the battery down. Replaced with a alternator ( no I don't want to start that battle ). Before I send it off to Mr. Wesenberg or make a anchor of it I thought I would look it over. Read through dozens...

Carl - true, but it might hit the whitewalls and bounce to the alternator .... sorry - as a new person I am fascinated by the drama of the those three as well as others :o Thanks Bill - give the dog a Treaty Bone for me. One of mine had her 17th birthday yesterday. Tom, You have something...

Bear with a newb question, I have been searching for the answer to this perhaps silly question. I bought spiffy new hoses and also the authentic type clamps to replace the modern hose clamps. Does the tang on the clamp go inside or outside of the hose clamp? Inside seems incorrect - to...

It has been said and you can find in many lookups that plain Lemon juice - the real stuff - will work on rust stains when left in the Sun. Since its your seat it would be a easy thing to try. I have a bad stain in the headliner I would love to try this with, but since I would have to turn the...

Re: Transfering photos to her from Windows Photo Galary... As a aside, you might also look into GIMP, a free photo editor in the flavor of Photoshop. Very powerful to manipulate images.

Nor will I drill a hole to make sure it clears .....:D The NAPA switch has to be modified so the key side nut can actually screw past the shoulder it has - like I said not ideal - to clear with safety. I won't suggest that one for anyone with a 30 Coupe as I have except as a temp. solution. I...

Good tip Joe - I wonder if the Ford switch at Tractor Supply is the same you are speaking of - it looks like the one I pulled out of my dash. www.tractorsupply.com/en/store/key-switch-ford

Yes Bob it is a tight fit - however I cutoff the extra stud length and it fits. Barely ... it will do till other things get fixed. Tom, I made a Vinegar mess but not near as bad as you did :D

Thanks for the responses so far, trying not to be dense about this but the obvious isn't always obvious. I believe Charles is closest to answering what I am driving at - the spring end itself makes a connection at the lower plate. So as it was with my other switch - one side was wired to the...

The cheap on/off switch in my 30 Coupe broke a ear off and I am replacing with a NAPA one. The hack to the old was a press on connector to the armored cable wire. There is just enough wire to resolder to it, and I am considering replacing the wire. I notice there is a thin metal wire that was...

As a new member to the forum, and a new A owner, here goes my reputation - who really gives a rats toot? These type of threads, like the "those who repair their cars are idiots" threads, serves no helpful purpose. I have really enjoyed finding this forum and have become addicted. I like the...

Since posting and further digging in the Archives I found this thread that answers the material for the back of the seat. http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93816&highlight=trunk

In my case - after June 1930, motor has a May date. Not sure what the term package tray defines however. Here is a pic of my trunk area as reference. Its on my to do list to clean up the trunk, and found Old Man and A Kids thread looking for this same thing. The piece of cardboard was just...
