    Valve Guides

Caution: (The following is intended to be humorous) I once had an old Dutch mechanic tell me the clearence should be; "loose mit no slop" Sort of a "mechanics tight" type of measurement! Brian W.

    Manifold Gland Rings

New exhaust manifold..use the rings. Old manifold..maybe not. Particularly if it has been milled, etc. The engine block side will be deep enough, old manifold, maybe not. Brian W.

    Oil pump replacement gears

The oil pump is a simple displacement pump...not a pressure pump. Only lifts oil about 6 inches. If the gears fit well and not bind, I would think all should be good? Brian W.

Should I pass on this A? Or would I miss out on something?

I donno if you can get a "good" Tudor for $8,000. If the car has truly been gone over and is a solid and safe "driver" with good engine, correct paint...well then ....also a good set of working set of Stipe shocks....well how about $13,000 to start the conversation!

Yeah, some folks just dont know...not aware or even worldly, out side of their own little world of limited experience, knowledge, and education, or lack thereof. Just my observations. Brian W.

Please no more posts about straight weight...non detergent oil...if its detergent then O.K. Dont overfill the pan. Only asking for leaks. Brian W.

Photo of 1931 4-Door With Blackwall Tires

Blackwalls is my vote, IF and only if, I had purchased say, a roadster (deluxe) that had them I would run them till they wore out - then replace with blackies. A deluxe roadster with dual sidemounts would be perhaps the only A that in my opinion looks alright with W/W tires.

32 4cyl. Exhaust Gasket leak running rough

Well first thing I'd check is make sure you have good fuel flow from the tank, through the pump, etc. I'm thinking the pump could be bad, needing a rebuild. Could be a big vaccum leak on the intake but try the fuel stuff first. Also, check your points gap. Brian W.

    Oil on Spark Plug

No oil passages in the head or on top of the block. Likely (IF) you have a problem it's going to be a ring problem or possibly worn/loose intake valve guide IMO. Do like others have said and just run it awhile and then recheck to see if actual oil is present. If so, could use a hotter plug till...

    Worn out 31 roadster value?

I'd say OFFER around $3,000 to start the conversation. Maybe more but I'd have to see it. Brian

    Tube shocks

If youve never had good, not rusty, springs and good original, or stipe shocks , then you'll never know. Too many used to driving without any shocks and just have come to expect the car to " be like that". No experience with the tube shocks here so I can't say...but likely better than nothing. Brian
