    Whats this tool?

Yes, I saw that. I was unable to open the catalog, knowing Ford it wouldn't be in there anyway because of proprietary rights. Maybe it has something to do with installing interior trim pieces? and why did it have to be cast from bronze?

    Whats this tool?

I am guessing it is from 'T' era, it may be more recent. I'd say it is a bronze casting and a notch with a groove at the end. It is a J.M. Waterston tool and the early style 'Ford' script on the other side. What is it for? Thanks, Oj

That pressure plate looks way too tall, I have a '41 transmission in mine and it doesn't look as tall as that. For the best advice and parts go to: http://www.vanpeltsales.com/ He flat knows these transmissions, check out his website.

    '40ish Flywheel question

The clutch pressure plate are matched Ford #'s 7563 & 7550 disc, but I see now there are a bunch of variations, I was told that they were from a pickup and that hot rodders used them back in the day. Now I really don't know what to do, I hate the thought of remachining the flywheel for the...

    '40ish Flywheel question

Uh-oh, a hot rodder is about to ask a question! I need a picture or a description of what the flywheel looks like on a 40ish Ford pickup. My problem is that I have a hemi flywheel and a toploader trans from about early 40's (it doesn't have an arm sticking up for the clutch/TO bearing...

    Wide5 wheel studs, need some

For some reason I am determined to mate the wide 5 and Buick, a need for self punishment I guess. I'll probably do a tech piece on it over on the hamb, I'll give you headsup. I received a lot of help from Dick Spadaro, without his help I'd never figured it all out. RIP Dick, we miss you.

    Wide5 wheel studs, need some

I looked the the Dorman 'on-line' catalog and contacted their tech, they advised me to go to Moroso or ARP. I am doing what you did, mating the Buick drum to Wide 5 hub, I tried using (I just doublechecked and realized I read my caliper wrong, my mistake) .563 knurl (I thought it was .663...

    Wide5 wheel studs, need some

I need 4sets of Wide 5 wheel studs, I've checked with van Pelt and others without luck. I measured best I could and went to Dormans' website but they didn't have anything. Any suggestions?

    Pinion Yoke, open drive

I have 40's era pickup banjo and the pinion yoke has rust pits on the machined surface where it contacts the seal. I'd like to replace it with a good one. The pinion has a tapered shaft, same as the axle. It is not a splined yoke. Shoot me an email at ojh4@verizon.net Thanks, Oj

    1937 v8-60

I have a very nice, complete V8-60 engine and transmission for sale. It is complete with ignition, starter, carb, generator, exhaust manifolds - all thats needed to start and run is battery and gas. It is not a rebuild, it sits as it was removed from a well running car and was the spare motor...

    Differences between Fords' 'A' & 'B'?

I'll look this evening when I get home but I am pretty sure I've seen, for instance, a 1930 45A and a 1930 45B Coupe. I remember flipping the pages back and forth to see if there was a feature that set them apart.

    Differences between Fords' 'A' & 'B'?

I've been trying to figure out what why Ford called some models an 'A' and some as 'B' - not the motor designation. For instance, the coupe Model 45, there is a 45A and 45B. It seemed the sedans were an 'A' if Tudor and 'B' 4 door but when I got to reading about Coupes, Specials and Deluxes...

    Banjo question

Thanks guys, I guess I'm there. I checked inch pounds with a snap-on torque meter that has a dial. Now I got to make a skinny wrench for the inner nut, I bought the set from ebay to remove the pinion where you get two wrenches and a plate to pull the race but they don't work on my jam nuts...

    Banjo question

I'm rebuilding a late 40's open drive rear and I have a question about the pinion bearings. Shouldn't there be a crush sleeve or something between the bearings in that double bearing race? When I tighten to 25ish inch lbs its; just like tightening a front wheel bearing and something don't feel...

    Antique Automobile Magazine

I have 5 issues of 'Antique Automobile' from the AACA, the top issue is May-June, 1969 vol 33 #3, the other 4 are still sealed but I expect they are from 1968 to 1969. I have two groups of 5 magazines, one is described above; the other groups' only open magazine is March-April, 1968; Vol 32 #2...
