Re: Simmons Super Power high compression head Priced to sell. Great head.

Selling this very nice Simmons Super Power high compression head for Model A. I believe this is 6:1 compression ratio. Its in great condition. Period speed parts are getting harder to find today and having this under the hood will certainly set you apart from everyone else at a show and when...

This is a very nice 1931 180A Deluxe Phaeton. It was owned by the same gentleman for over 30 years. When I acquired the car I had the fuel system cleaned and the carburetor rebuilt. The car was restored about 20 years ago, but it has held up very nicely. It runs well and is ready for driving or...

I have a police head for my car (has a B cast in the top) and I measured the flatness on the bottom of the head with a straight edge and it is 5 thousands of an inch off in the center. Is this too much or should this be ok?

Well, I just tried running the hot wire into the distributor again and I get no spark!!! I dont see what is wrong. I also took the plate off of the distributor and everything looks fine inside, the wire connecting the two plates is fine and the condenser is fine...

Here are some pictures of it, its much larger than a stock Model A distributor. There is a part number on the bottom: 20104. Also shouldn't there be a pin like a stock distributor to keep it from rotating? or does it just slide in as is and the lock screw holds it in place?

Where do I look to find what model it is? I will post pictures in a moment

I am looking for a new cap for my Mallory dual point distributor for my A. Does anyone know where I might find one? I have most of the original, it was broken before I got it and I would like to try this thing out on my car.

Thanks everyone for the great advise. I will try cleaning the hole first with some sand paper and if that doesn't work I think I will just file the pin until it fits. The pin on the new distributor is clearly larger than the pin on the old one (visibly larger without measuring).

I purchased a brand new distributor for my car and the pin in the bottom of the distributor that fits into the top of the head is too large in diameter to fit into the hole in the head. So, my question here is should I take the time to file the pin down or should I just drill the hole larger in...

The T & A show is a great show that should not be missed if you like old Fords. I will be there this year with one of my cars. As for the HCCA Redding show, I am a board member of the Fairfield County region HCCA and I was unfortunetly out voted on saving that show. But, if you are a member or...

Up for sale is a really nice original alluminum Burns dual downdraft carb intake with 94 carbs and linkage. Really nice setup in great original condition for a Model A. Im sure it would create some power. Included are adapters to put this on a Model T as well. Thanks.

Gary, thanks for the quick response. Yea I just figured this out. It was just stuck so I took the valve cover off and grabed it from the underside and worked it out. :D

I need to remove the lower distributor shaft on my 2 piece style distributor (the shaft that runs from the upper shaft to the oil pump drive gear). Can anone tell me how to go about doing this? How do you remove the spring? And how do you take the shaft out? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
