I have had terrible issues with pertronix products. I gained 17 rear wheel HP going back to points on a big block Chevy in a Camaro. Sent ignitor back to pertronix and it tested fine. Most will work fine on a distributor tester, put them in an engine firing a plug and they won't hold steady...

The GM stuff might be cheap but have you considered a Holley Sniper? They work great

Generally resizing a rod you remove .003 from the caps. There is more variation in stock rods than that.

Has anyone else had issues with full-flow filter systems trapping air? I've had two engine failures with what is usually called the 95% filter modification. Both lost #8 rod bearing in a few 1000 miles.

I've put engines together without an inlet restrictor, a fresh motor will have about 5-10lbs at a hot idle, put the factory restrictor in and it jumps up to 25lbs. Never tried opening up the orifice on the outlet.

Get a good 6-volt battery. They mage a 550 CCA AGM 6 volt that looks pretty original

If your going to modify a Ford bellhousing get a 52-53 cast bell housing. The 49-51 stamped steel mounts the trans and starter plate at an angle.

Get Best gaskets from Egge Machine, they are great.
