Pentronix change over Need to know if it's feasible to fit a 8ba Mallory twin point with a Pentronix setup........Or would the stock distributor be a better option to use .....:D

A Friend needs help.Will a 40 truck 4 speed crash gear box line up with the stock gear box mountings in a 36 sedan ...It is only required for road testingthe car till the stock box is repaird...It will take some time till the original box is done....The obligation is, he has to buy the truck...

Had a similar problem on my '39....turned out to be the universal joint was touching the cupped section of the tailshaft housing that covers the uni. joint.. Replaced the tailshaft and gear box bearing(s) ect. along with the uni. joint ....fixed...........

Question is....Did they balance the horse, buggy and driver separatley...... Or did they do them altogether...??? Whatya reckon..... eh ???

To avoid any confusion about my post saying the relief valve could have been "stuck open"... I was refering to the first 300 mls mentioned after startup, where it may have seemed to be working correctly ..or was being held open by some other fault, which also gave the impression it was working...

The pump pressure spring and valve that control the rate of oil pumped maybe stuck open, or the valve that pushes against the pump body on the pump end of the spring could have some dirt or grit holding it open or stuck off centre..... Check the pump you had used originaly to get an idea of what...

I had a similar situation as this one..I cut a piece of 2x1 timber about 12"in. long..which i held on the head(s) on it's end on the engine while reving it...In doing this, it told me that the engine was not vibrating and it was coming from elsewhere.... As it turned out it was the engine mounts...
