Fuel pump works just fine when the truck is cool... When it warms up it turns off. We are going to replace it this week. I hate these pumps

I have no idea... We take it for a ride today and it starts fine again.... driving for about 5-10 minutes and the fuel pump just shuts off.........we wait 15 minutes for it to cool down and it will start again but can only drive another 5 minutes. I am fed up with this...My son installed new...

The truck is almost all original and is still 6 volt. When I purchased the truck it has always had a 6 volt fuel pump. Any ideas. When it is cool at night things seem fine.. As soon as I drive for 5 minutes it just quits and I must wait until it cools down thanks Jeff
