I have have two "restored A's ??" and have found on both these cars that the PO's had left out the small felt seal that fits between the bottom of the King Pin and the Backing Plate . The result being that each time the King Pins were greased the front hubs got a good shot of grease. Did nothing...

WE do similar things down here in NZ. Go on You Tube and Type in Irish Man Creek Rally. You will get to see what go's on.That is a famous South Island event lots of metal roads and off road Driving, for pre 1931 cars. Lots of Model A's attend. Up here in the North Island we now have a similar...

Years ago I had an A engine that drank oil like that. When I finally pulled it apart I found it had a Gudgeon Pin score down the side of one of the cylinders. Happy Motoring.

Today I put the last hub on the rear end for my '31 Coupe project. Rear end now completely rebuilt minus spring. Got out rear wheels, already painted, and hopefully will get tires on them tomorrow. Soon I will be able to roll that rear end under the chassis. Wet here today in Kiwi. :) Happy...

Lovely Tudor. Probably a good move. I don't think those new fangled 8 cylinder cars are going to catch on. Too many parts. Cold and sunny here in Kiwi. Happy Motoring. :)

I have written about this before on the barn but I dont think any one believes me:- Clean up the cracked area vee out a little, till cast iron is really clean. Make up a strong copper sulphite solution and paint it on the area to be repaired. After a while wash off excess and this should leave a...

Wonderful That Wensum brought up the Irishman Creek Rally and Synchro909 posted the videos. One of N Zs great rallys but not for people who do not want to get their car wet dirty and maybe broken--true vintage motoring. Its on my bucket list too! Great to see the big Buick keeping up with the...

Great news Derek. I'll be wanting one of those. Looking forward to your update when they become available. Dave.

Regarding Sea Slugs Question. I have been a Model A man ever since I could legally drive a car but in my declining years I have developed a closet liking for Dodge. Tucked away in my shed amongst all the Model A stuff is a 1928 Dodge Victory Six. It has an oil filter, although not full flow, (...

Recently I repaired the steering wheel for the 31 coupe I am restoring. It was a nice wheel not warn much with really good lines but with cracks and chips, too nice to replace. I got hold of a badly damaged un repairable wheel and filed lots of the compound from it with a fine file. I then...

It shouldn"t be a problem to change over. Our Right Hand Drive cars are the opposite way round to your Left Hand Drivers. When stock the outside locking handle is on the left side and the sliding lock (coupes and tudors) is on the right. Might be different for closed cab pickups. We didnt get...

So how did they get the '37 into the hotel room ? Ha Ha best bit of slap stick Ive seen for ages.

What you are going to do may cause you some problems if you are mounting a 30/31 body radiator etc to the chassis. The mounting pad for the radiator is lower on the 30/31 front crossmember. On the early cross member the radiator mount spot is flush. Thus the 30/31 radiator will be to high.When...
