    Filling Pits on Leaf Springs

I have some pitting on my springs that I want to fill. I am thinking that either JB Weld or All-Metal would be good choices since they should hold up. My concern is if they would be flexible enough or if fiberglass filler would be better. Paint, then use some Slip Plate between. Anyone have...

292 Y-Block Cam Fuel Pump Eccentric

I sold my 1956 Ford Sunliner 292 Y-Block which I had taken the engine out to rebuild. The buyer called that he can't find the Camshaft Fuel Pump Eccentric, washers and nut. It makes no sense as I labeled and put every part in a bag as it came off. Anyway, I looked at the online stores and I am...

    Original Model T Title

I found this in my in-laws and thought others might like to see it. That $529 was a lot of money to a salesman. Kind of hard to imagine that same $529 is only $7,288.43 in today's dollar. Other documents in the same box included correspondence concerning being behind on payments and finally...

    Engine Tolerance and Tightness

After getting the engine together it is really tight. Without the pistons I can put my torque wrench on it and turns at less than 30 ft lb. But put the pistons in and it is tight. The cylinders are bored out .060, the pistons are older with the side split but have never been used and have a...

    Forged Rear Main Question

All, This is a curiosity question concerning the use of the forged rear main. I have a approximate August 28 Roadster. When was the forged rear main phased out and I would guess the cast rear bearing was to save cost and weight. Is there any advantage to the forged rear main? Thanks Ron

I have a main bearing cap with part number A-6880. I can't find any details on this cap. I would guess that it is a replacement cap. Does anyone have information on if this is for #1 or #2? Thanks Ron

    Engine Frustration

Maybe this will help someone else but the problem doesn't appear to be the babbit but rather the plastigauge I used. I purchased a pack at my local autoparts. A member suggested that it might have been old plastigauge that had hardened. I ordered a packages Clevite plastigauge from Jeggs and...

Here's a picture of the bearings after using Prussian Blue. The babbit is soft and what you see is the indent from the platigauge.
