    1936 Pickup Bed Questions

I left the original metal floor in place. I replaced all the hardwood planks between the bed floor and the subframe. To finish the top, I used a piece of plywood, routered slots to add metal rub strips, three coats of stain and polyurethane, then bolted through the rub strips, through the...

    You aren't the only one with a Frankenstein truck...I have a 40 flathead in a 1938 car frame, a 1936 cab with a 1937 bed. It all works ;)

    New OEM-style Suspension Springs

Eaton Detroit Spring is dedicated to making springs to OE specs. For example, many early Mustang parts houses show 1 leaf spring part number for 65-67, but Eaton has all the variables for coupe, conv, fastback, GT, non GT, v8, 6 cyl, etc.

Getting close to paint decision time. Need advice.

My 36 is painted with Eastwood's Wimbledon White. I like the look of a single stage solid color. If I need to repair it, no problems blending a clear or getting a metallic to match. I highly suggest staying away from pearl or metallic. I've sprayed them in a both and done well, but would not do...

Iowa / ill. Fall current fall color update

I would have liked to have gone to the Cedar Rapids swap meet, but since it is only a one day event on Saturday I will miss it. Have to be at a funeral in South Dakota that day. Driving through Iowas yesterday (Thursday), I saw quite a bit of red leaves on trees along the highway, I-35, 218...

    Rust 911 before and after

yeah, on second look that may be correct. I used a big piece of pvc to soak my dash rail and steering column, but I used vinegar and I didn't cut the pipe, just put caps on both ends

Wayne Carini gets a 36 Ford pickup

But he knows what he is doing, and he has spent decades building his reputation and client list to get where he is today. His knowledge is what they pay him for, and that knowledge has come from hard work. Nothing says you gotta turn a wrench for 60 years and never make any progress.

    36 pickup column drop attachment

I did a quick search but didn't see this answered.. Inside the dash where the column drop bolts go through, is there a separate reinforcing plate to install before I put the bolts in? Just trying to secure the column to get ready for a tow.

Help with search for 36 pickup ig wiring

"If you want any T5 help let me know!" I only have the trans so far...out of an S10 I want to rebuild it before installing it as I don't want to go to all the trouble of installing an unknown part. Probably a year before I get to it, by the time I finish the move to Indy and get settled in to...

Help with search for 36 pickup ig wiring

Again, thanks for the help! Not going for show points, the truck is a Frankenstein with a 38 frame, 36 cab, 37 bed, and a 40 flathead...:D LOL. But I'm keeping it 6v positive ground and cable brakes from the 38. If I ever get a chance to drive it I might then play around with swapping in a T5...

Help with search for 36 pickup ig wiring

Greatly helpful, thank you. I've been looking at the same diagrams from Mac VanPelts site. Since this is a truck and uses a foot starter switch, there is no solenoid, no dome light, no cigarette lighter. The basic wires should be the same or similar to car. Which direction does the fuse...
