I think where the confusion here is is the fact that the vacuum advance for the Load o Matic DOES NOT function like a standard vacuum advance distributor. Yes, you are pulling vacuum like that Holley was designed to do on any other engine/vacuum advance distributor combo but not with the stock...

That's what I was always told too.....unless you're running the original 2 bbl it's not working properly with the Load o matic.

Could you tell us how you got the vacuum advance to work correctly?

Mine also cranked and ran 'out of the box'. Should be getting plenty of fuel. Have you checked the float settings?

This thread is very helpful to me also......I'll have to be doing the very same thing to my '28 Phaeton. Ken if you have time when you are working, snapshots along the way would be helpful.......if you feel like doing a tutorial...:D
