    Cam/oil pump helical gear combination

I went to the Benson archives site but it says they can only make low resolution scans

    Cam/oil pump helical gear combination

I started cutting my own helical gears for my small engines a number of years ago. 2 gears of the same diametral pitch and 45 degree helix angle produce 2 gears of the same outside diameter. I realized when making gears for my Ford 302 V8 engine that the cam gear and distributor gear are...

    Distributor/oil pump drive gear

Could someone please tell me the tooth count and outside diameter of the oil pump drive gear? I'm creating a Model and I would appreciate the information. gbritnell

CAD Model of Model A Engine

Several of the last few internal parts for the engine, the starter bendix, the pressure plate and clutch disc. All that's left is the cam and valves but that's going to take some work to make the parts so they're operational.

CAD Model of Model A Engine

When I get the last few parts made and a worksheet with all the various screws and where they go I'll definitely get back to you.

CAD Model of Model A Engine

Just a quick update on the progress of the 3D printed A with trans. All the major structural components are finished. Items remaining, clutch, starter camshaft and valves. It's taken quite some time as tweaking of the part models has been necessary to get good fits. I made a stand for it to make...

Apparently there is a text examiner and it doesn't like the first three letters put together in the word meaning 'put together' so it exchanges them with asterisks.

CAD Model of Model A Engine

The latest update on the A printed engine parts. I have the crankcase breather/oil fill tube and cap, The intake and exhaust manifolds and the water outlet. I think after ***embling the manifolds onto the block that the exhaust needs to come down a little. The lofting procedure in Solidworks is...

CAD Model of Model A Engine

Slowly picking away at the parts. Modeled the generator for printing which means it was broken down into pieces that wouldn't have much support. The main body was printed from the flat end which eliminated most of the support material. The end plate was flat so that was good. The pulley just had...

CAD Model of Model A Engine

I just finished up the pistons, pins, rods and caps. The rough surfaces from the printing supports need to be filed smooth.

CAD Model of Model A Engine

I never built an A engine. Just not enough time but I did build an inline 4 cylinder engine. .750 bore and .875 stroke. My trade was a metal patternmaker for the Ford Motor Company. When I started in the 60's they were just ending the castings for the industrial 4 cylinder 8N As a teenager...

I have a few more parts modeled and printed. The flywheel, oil pan, water pump and fan.

CAD Model of Model A Engine

Hi Mike, no that wasn't my plan. It's hard to figure out what to charge for it. The printing doesn't cost anything but a couple of rolls of filament so $45 but there's probably about 5 hours of fettling to get everything fitted so it turns over smoothly. It will end up having rods, pistons and...

CAD Model of Model A Engine

The modeling and printing is coming along. Just like nomadpsd there's been a lot of searching the net to gather relative dimensions then from there using my artistic license to create the parts. I started with nomadpsd's block printed at 30% scale then slightly modifying the peripheral parts to...

CAD Model of Model A Engine

Just PLA+ and tough PLA . As far as brands I use Creality and ESun. Printer is Bambu A1 and Ender 3 V3 KE. I'm a machinist so the small metal things I make. Screws are mostly Metric. When I make the models the holes are made so that they can be threaded the appropriate size for the scale.
