    Homemade crank nut wrench ?

I have made several of these wrenches. I cut down the length of the socket and weld them on a bar that is slightly bent. They work fine, be sure you don't forget to take them off before you start the engine. You can generally pick up the sockets at swap meets for around a dollar. They are an odd...

    Tubes

I am on my fourth tube since the first of the year. Two were from Tiwan and one from India. They all failed at the seams. Two were in the area where the valved is attached. I got the first two from Coker's when I bought new tires, and the other two from Mac's. I have rim liners and the wheels...

I think they are great improvements. I like to tour too, and have done a lot of modifications to make touring easier. Most of which cannot be seen unless you know what you are looking for.

    You and the AAA

I have the top of the line Premier card. It has 200 mile towing, and I think it is well worth it. I have only used it once, and I specified a flat bed. You also need the MAFCA directory in case you are more than 200 miles from home. I would be willing to help anyone who called me, and I think...

    F150 conversion

I have been running one for several years that was done by one of our club members. It is great. I have a 29% 4th gear, but they have 4 different ratios all the way down to 21%. It doesn't climb very well, and you need to be going at least 45 to keep it from lugging.

    battery cut out switch

I mounted mine in the fire wall, and used it on the positive cable. I can turn the switch with my foot and it is up out of the way. Also if you ever need to jump start the car you can attach the jumper to the switch on the fire wall instead of having to expose the battery.

    Ignition Options

I have both FS ignitions. I had to have the Zipper modified to a lower advance, and it works well. I also have the manual advance and it also works well. I always carry a spare distributer incase the module goes bad. (it hasn't in 4 years) You must be sure to hit the starter as soon as you turn...

    Wheel Alignment

I had the same problem, and thought I had a bent axel. Another member of my club suggested I just correct the toe in and that would probably take care of the camber problem too. I did the string alignment method and he was right. I had about an inch of toe out, and when I took care of that the...

    Stolen Model A recovered

There are exceptions to the Salvaged title rule in California. The insurance company can ask that a salvage title not be issued in some cases. Most are recovered thefts that have little or no damage. Some just have cosmetic damage like stolen radio or wheels and tires gone. I was an adjuster...

    Manifold machining

After you reinstall them you need to re-torque them after a heat cycle. It took 10 times to get mine tight. If you don't you will blow the gasket
