Yes Jay. That's what I found too. In fact, I adjusted (read that as bent) my float arm so's it read empty well before it was at the bottom. Better to have a gauge tell you you're empty when you've still got some in there than the other way around !

If you go to the trouble of removing the flywheel, replace the pressure plate and plate with a 6 cylinder Falcon. But you'll have to have the flywheel redrilled to take the Falcon pressure plate. Original clutch mechanism can be retained. AND the clutch will be lighter too.

I put a little Holley in line up on the chassis just behind the rear wheel. I bought an adjustable reducer but set at 3 lbs (can't remember the brand). About 4 years back. Works fine. Bypassed the original, but left it in there if ever the electric plays up.

If it's the original pressure plate maybe the three fingers aren't evenly adjusted. Perhaps you need to reface the pressure plate too? I took my flywheel in to be re-drilled & tapped to take a Falcon pressure plate. Same size clutch plate. And the clutch is lighter too.
