A quick check is with an ohm meter across the primary terminals a 6V coil should measure approx. 1.5 ohms and a 12v coil will be approx. 3.0 ohms.

    How to wire flasher

The L means load - that is the wire to the lite bulb. The X is the wire from the voltage source. The P is the wire to the panel lite, if you do not use a indicator lite just leave it unwired. Hope this helps!

    Radiator Baffle

I had the same problem with a radiator that I bought at a swap meet. My fix was to use a brass kitchen sink down tube ( the type that has a flang on the top end ) and cut it short so that it was about 1 inch above the core when inserted into the rad. neck. Use a rad cap gasket under the flange...

First time out in a year!

My 29 Tudor had not been started and driven for about a year due to a heart problem that I had, but I am well along on the mend, so when the local club had a picnic at a park about 50 mile away I decided to drive it. I put fresh gas in it and it started up on the first try. So off the wife and...

cowl lacing install question 29 Ford

The wire is used to hold the cowl lacing on- it is fastened on each side by looping it through the small hole at each end of cowl lacing holder and the lacing is under the wire then in the center there is a hook that is over the wire and adjusted to pull it tight. Maybe someone can post a pic...

    Curious question on alternators

One thing that no one mentioned is that if the batt. is completly dead with an alt. you can not get the car to start by pushing it!! An alt. requires some voltage to it before it will start outputing so if no output there is no voltage to ingition and no spark = no start!!

What would kill a new coil?

Most modern coils are oil filled and that oil will often leak out if it is mounted the way the A coil is. I had the same experience till someone told me to mount it with the hi-volt wire from the top. It may require a longer wire to the dist. but it cured my problem.

    Model a spring question ...

Sounds as though its been modified the way we used to do in the 50s to make the car set lower. We would use a torch and heat the main spring leaf just inward from the shackle and let the car weight cause it to form that v shape . The car would then set a couple inches lower.

Depending on the state you are in it is often better to have the state DMV issue you a new Title. This is what I did in TX with no problem. It is for the correct year and the only difference is that it is a bonded title.
