I recently changed from old Garfields to American Classic bias look radials (21") and the improvement in ride and tracking in amazing! The radials are a little pricey but worth it.

My Garfield tires wore like iron and rode like iron! I finally replaced them with a set of American Classic Bias Look Radials. The improvement in ride and tracking is dramatic, wish I'd done it years ago.

Early 50's chevy's had battery trays on the firewall. A search for 49-54 chevy battery tray will show several options.

Also be sure emergency brake is releasing fully. Dragging brakes can cause the bucking on acceleration

like it says in the instruction manual - downshift to second without hesitation in neutral. A quick movement of the lever will work every time! (below 15 mph or so) There is no need to downshift to first - if a model A is moving, second gear will handle it!

I don't know about musical notes, but was observing that if the fourth axle is driving the third then it looks to me like it might be a longer AA wheelbase vehicle!

On my un-restored pickup they are small heads just like the ones for the bed strips.

On my e-brakes that toggle lever housing is swaged, not welded, to the plate. One was loose and very worn. I was able to swage a new housing (the exact Snyders part you referenced ) onto the plate using an old brake adjuster wedge and a couple of raps with a hammer to expand the lip that sticks...

looks like a later (32-?) model but can be used on an A. one wire is grounded, other goes to cutout.

looking at the original question, he "pulled" on it. My dash light turns on by pushing on it. I only pull on it to remove the cover for a bulb change. Perhaps the light is ok?

Recently turned 62. Got my A from my Dad, who bought it when I was 3 or 4, so I don't remember a time when it hasn't been around. It is the first car i ever drove - at age 11.

On mine, the bent corners were positioned in those 1/8" slots. keeps them from turning when you tighten the nuts.

Vinegar (acid) will clean out rust and scale deposits, while Draino type products (caustic) will clean out grease, sludge, and dirt deposits. I used both (separately) with great success on my old radiator, rinsing thoroughly with water. Neither harmed the metal.
