    '61 Sunliner question

I've decided that $32K is a fair asking price. Seems that the car is valued at $40K if in pristine condition. This one is near that but has a few minor issues that could be addressed to make it a 100 point car. This one is a very nice driver with a recent frame-off restoration. Original Ford...

    '61 Sunliner question

My good friend and Starliner/Sunliner aficionado died recently. He had restored a '61 Sunliner frame off. It is all new with 352 CID, C6 and all the rest. Trying to sell it for his widow. Any ideas where to start price wise? Original Ford yellow with black interior and white top. Drive any where.

'54 Ranch Wagon, Where do these go?

I don't know what is meant by "Between the seats". They go on sides of the front seat. The one pictured is for the right side.

64 Galaxie w/manual steering hard to turn

Borgeson is an excellent choice. However it is not an easy installation. You will have to shorten the steering column to allow for the taller steering box. This also involves making provision to stabilize the lower end of the column because the column support schema is different on these GM...

    1957 Ranchero Parts

Got it all but the left and right door lock cylinder levers with the little springs that attach them to the lock. Will gladly buy the lock and all. The Title is '57 Ranchero, but all '57 thru '59 Ford will fit.

    55 vicky transmission misbehaving

The problem is that the seals are getting old and hard. Pust some Trans-Lube friction modifier in and drive for long enough to soak at operating temperature for at least 10 minutes. This will most likely give you a few more years of service. If you want to change the fluid, the Havoline Global...

    1957 Ranchero Parts

Need left and right door glass lift channels and left and right door lock cylinder lever with the little springs that attach them to the lock. These levers are what goes between the key lock and the lock mechanism. Also need the trim for the headliner that screws into the tack strip at the rear...

    An oil dipstick dilemma

Put some Marvel Mystery Oil in it; should give the oil a red tint. If you put 5 qts in without changing the filter, it may be a qt too much. Yes, the '70 302 in a Mustang dip stick is on the front and there is an after market chrome dipstick and tube available.

    Fuel Pressure Regulator Recommendations?

Part Number: 510-12-803 The Holley is a good recommendation; and be sure to back it down to about 3 1/2 psi. The most important thing I can tell you is to be sure and use Sta-Bil Marine Ethanol treatment to protect the pump, regulator, guage, metal fuel lines, and the carburetor. I had all...

    Edsel Push Button Transmission

Early in the '58 model run, Ford ran out of Tele-touch parts for a brief time. To continue production, they used Mercury columns and steering wheels in Edsels and changed the logo in the center of the steering wheel. There were only about 200 of these produced that way; so I have been told by...

Converting Victoria from auto to manual, help needed...

If by "fun" you mean performance, and you are going to stick with the older model transmission, you better get about 5 spare transmissions. Those old trannies were notoriously weak and will break at the thought of a speed shift. By the way, the old Ford-O-Matics will out run the manual shift...

    1955 ford station wagon with a V8 302 Engine.

Had a problem like that with an FE engine. Drove me crazy for 2 years. Changed FP and went through the electronics over and over. Finally the fuel line from the hard line to the fuel pump began leaking. The problem was that the line had a very small leak and did not leak gas but allowed the FP...

    239 Y-Block Trouble F250

Pail hit on a very common problem with those old carbs. Symptoms are exactly as you are experiencing. A rebuild is in your future or better yet, a new reproduction carb is available from many sources. Those old carbs are near impossible to make and KEEP right; always leaking. There are people...

    New Project: 1959 Custom 300

Concur with the Munster. Looks great as is. If you think you can match the paint, I would fix the rust in the interest of stopping it from getting worse. As for the running gear, change the rear gear to a later model higher ratio in the order of 3.25:1 to slow that engine down relative to our...

56 Ford F100 New Project - Engine Questions

Absolutely agree on the carb choice. Especially if it is a vacuum secondary. You said it is an older Holley 4V. I assume you have the larger bolt pattern and so any late carb will also fit. I'm sure you know to assure yourself that the distributor is also '57 up to match the vacuum advance...

Questions regarding intake and exhaust manifolds for 292 Y-block

I have also never cracked an exhaust manifold using gaskets. If there is concern with this issue, consider using copper gaskets which are readily available. As for someone wanting to gig you for using a gasket, Ford shops probably used them on engines with miles on it or had to deal with come-backs.

    The forgotten 1960 Fords

Purist collectors WILL INDEED demand correct date codes and casting numbers on certain rare Fords. Also, there are certain numbers stamped into high performance blocks, for example, that identify them as such. A friend showed me this recently on a Super Cobra Jet block which allowed the...
