    62 Galaxie Front Brakes

The kit was from Leeds. It went together easily but I would have used Wilwood had I know the bearings and races were from China. It was Sunday and I went ahead and used them but they wont last. The rest of the kit fit fine, I just fail to understand using cheap bearings as it makes them look...

    62 Galaxie Front Brakes

Yesterday I got around to installing disc brakes on my 62 Galaxie. I pulled the hubs and then the backing plates as a single until. The drums and shoes are in good shape and the cylinders were rebuilt a few months ago. All of the self adjusters, springs etc were never removed. If anyone is...

I have a survivor 62 Galaxie with great original upholstery, however the original owner replaced the original vinyl front seats inserts with cloth. I’m trying to find the company that makes the reproduction upholstery, or a reputable company that can provide what I need. A company called Pro...

    Model B water pumps

I thought there were reproductions being made but no one seems to know anything about them. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places. Anyone know why the reproductions stopped and if they are going to start up again?

    Garage Hoist

I picked up a 12000 Aamco, made in Canada, a few years ago. Its a 4 post and I love it. My son in law hates it and thinks a two post is better. He doesnt understand the pain of getting under a car to position the arms on a two post. I love being able to drive a car or truck onto the lift and...

    Steering Column Bracket

I did not like the looks of a 31 column drop on my 28. I took a 1/4 x 2" flat bar and ran it from flange to flange on the cowl. It is bolted to the cowl on each side as well a single bolt into the instrument tunnel. I used a 36 column drop with the key an toggle as mine is a hot rod but this...

    Radio Polarity Help Needed

My 47 came with a 6 volt Optima battery and a one wire alternator. It had and still has a negative ground. I have had the radio repaired and want to get it working but am unsure about hooking up to the negative ground. It seems I would have two options: 1. Reverse the polarity back to...

    Firewall vs Dash?

I was once corrected when calling the "dash" in my Model A a firewall. Apparently the correct term for the metal piece that most people refer to as a firewall was called a dash by Ford Motor Company. I would like to know when Ford stopped calling it a dash and went with the firewall nomenclature.

    Firewall vs Dash

I wasn't looking for generic definitions. I was looking for FoMoCo definition. I believe all Model T's had "dash's" behind the engine and I believe Ford still called the "firewall" a dash through the Model A's. Just wondering how long that went on. I'll go post this on the V8 section and...

    Firewall vs Dash

Sometime in the early years the vertical metal that most people call a firewall was actually called a dash. Was it called a dash or dashboard? What year did Ford change the nomenclature from dash to firewall?

    Column drop rebuild parts needed

I ordered a rebuild kit with an ignition switch for a 36 Ford. Came from Vintique. The off and on plate is backwards. When the toggle is down it says on and when its up it says off. Anyone else have this problem? Anybody besides Vintique make these parts? I was in a hurry and went ahead and...

    1947 brake drum

I had close to 5000 miles on the brake shoes on my Model A with 40 Ford brakes. The drums were getting thin so I got new drums from Sacramento Vintage Ford. They would go on if clocked right but would not turn. They were out of round big time. As I recall it took almost an eighth to get them...

    47 Tudor

I'm unable to edit any of the posts. The price of the car is 11500.00 This is a nice car that needs a new home as I have too many cars to take care of in my old age. The car is in Kanab Utah. It runs and drives and I still have no fear of heading out on a long trip.
