Removing inside door handles and window cranks

Need to replace a cracked door glass on my '55 Ford. I have the tool for removing the inside door handle and window crank, but it's not getting them off, I know the tool goes 180 degrees from the way the handle/crank points. I removed many of them when I worked in a body shop in high school...

'55 Ford car;-- can someone take a picture for me

Need a photo of the brace that goes between the center of the fronint splash pan and the tab on the front cross member. If someone has an original '55 Ford that has never been wrecked in front.😞There is a tab on the center of the front crossmember with a bolt hole, and it looks like there should...

Need someone to take a picture for me

Can someone with a '55-'56 Ford V8 2 barrel carb and 3 on the tree take a picture of your car's throttle linkage and return springs showing the bellcrank and linkage from the arm on the firewall to the bellcrank?

I have a distributor from a '57 Merc 312 with new points, condensor, cap, and rotor ready to go. Do I need to change the carburetor to run it on my '55 272?

Source for speedo housing clamps '55 Ford

Does anybody know where I can get the clamps (4 of them per car) that hold the speedometer/gauge cluster assembly to the dash on '55 Ford cars. Or does anybody have some on a parts car?

    Is Lawson Cox still around?

Glad to know he is still with us. His late brother Felix was chairman of the pastor search committee when I became pastor of Woolford Memorial Baptist Church in Baltimore in '89.

    Is Lawson Cox still around?

He's in his 90s if he is. Haven't seen any posts from him in a while. Good guy. Bought a NOS '38-'39 big truck radiator from him to use in my '38 pickup.

    55 Fairlane gauge panel removal

Yes, those four nuts hold 4 clamping pieces. Remove those, and the speedometer and gauge cluster assembly lifts out easily. You will find the job much easier if you have a universal joint beween your wrist and your elbow.

    Timing marks on a '55 272I

I changed the distributor on my '55 272 and used a '57 and later distributor. How do I read the timing marks as there are no numbers ? I'm assuming the first mark would be 0 degrees. Shop manual calls for 3 degrees advance with manual transmission.

'55 Customline 3-speed on the column shifter position

Never saw a '55 Ford car with an aftermarket add-on turn signal unit. I would have thought that all states would have required turn signals on cars by '55. I know some trucks as late as '55 came with a single taillight and no turn signals from factory. I used to have a second series '55 Chevy...

    Truck tail gate

It sounds like from the description that he has a '35-'36 or possibly a '37 tailgate. Beds up through '41 were 46" inside width. '42 and later beds were 3" wider. They started making them wider because more building materials were being produced in 4' x 8' sheets. A sheet of plywood or...
