Advice on: F-1 Gas Tank change

I don't think the original location is too big a hazard as it is not the full width of the cab. Some of the later trucks had tanks that extended to the sides of the cab.

    Cut out on '39 generators?

I have a 39 Standard that originally came with a 3 brush generator and cutout. The output of this generator is only rated at 15 amps at 6 volts. When driving at night with headlights and a heater when the generator is adjusted for maximum output it would "sling solder" out of the commutator...

    Shackle Bolt Removal Question

It takes a punch slightly less in diameter than the OD of the bushing ( so it will slip through) and either a press or a big hammer. They can be a pain.

    F-1 rear axle question

I have (2) 50 rear ends laying here, but they are in Virginia. I installed a 9" from an 57 F100 in mine. It was a direct bolt in other than adding shims for the pinion angle and adding the 57 crossmember for the shocks. I don't know how many miles were on the 57 with a 223 6 cyl, but the ring...

question 40 engine in 35 coupe. What generator do I need?

The old 3 brush generator I think is only rated 15 amps and the third brush position sets the current output. The 2 brush unit as used on a 40 Ford is a better unit, is self regulating, and I think is rated up to 30 amps. You must have the correct pulley on it to mount the fan. It uses a...
