    Coolant question

I noticed some coolant under my 30 A Roadster. I thought I might need to add some coolant in but as I was pouring it in it was coming out the overflow tube onto the ground. Does this mean the radiator was already too full? It was really hot today outside but the car hasn’t been running...

    Need help with fuel shutoff

Thanks for all the help! I had a feeling it might be better to just replace it all from the tank forward. Looks like I have a fun new project to do!

    Need help with fuel shutoff

I have an oddball fuel shutoff on my T. It seems like the gas line is not the original size and they used some kind of aftermarket shutoff with 2 male tube thread ends. It has started leaking around the petcock and I need to find a replacement but nothing mates up to my fuel line and the...

    Transmission

Thanks for the advice! Hopefully I get the hang of this. I have a feeling some of my problem is driving it wrong.

    Transmission

I do tend to push down slowly on the pedals. Maybe I need to be more aggressive as well.

    Transmission

Is there a way to inspect the band linings without completely pulling the bands? I can see lining material underneath the bands themselves. Do I need to pull the bands out and inspect them as if I were going to change them out or is there another way to do that?

    Transmission

I am slowly learning about my Model T. I have noticed that when I depress the clutch to go into first gear the T tends to shudder almost like the band isn't quite engaging (like when you don't quite give it enough gas in a modern car) and then goes into low speed. Same with reverse. Does...

    Getting a model t running

Sorry. I haven’t checked this in awhile. I bought the one that was located in Canada. Saw it posted in Hemings. Hopefully I can get it going reliably It has been changed over to a distributor and I believe the engine is from 1922. Wood is in great shape. Overall seems to be a solid...

    Transmission questions

Just got my t up and running and took it for a test drive. Noticed some issues which I am not sure are operator error or if I need to adjust something: 1: Clutch and brake pedals do not pop back when hand brake is in center position especially the clutch. Brake comes up a little but clutch...

    Fan belt tension

Thanks for the info The previous owner had put a piece of leather as a temporary belt and it was really loose. Once I had an actual fan belt on everything tightened up and I was able to adjust the tension with the bolt that I was thinking might be the tensioner

    Fan belt tension

Having to install a new fan belt and have located the bolt that moves the arm the fan is connected to. Looking at the Ford service manual it appears the tension adjustment screw is on the side of the oil filler. My car has a distributor and it appears that the adjustment bolt should be...

    Distributor question

I have read several threads about needing to oil my distributor from the top. My screw that is loosened to set the timing did not have a drill hole in the center so I removed it and put a little oil down in the hole under the screw. Have I made a major mistake by doing so and how do I need to...

    Getting a model t running

Hello I am a new model T owner. I just bought a 1917 model T couplet. My first Model T. I am told it is one of the rarer body styles but my reason for buying is I really liked the look of it.. Not sure of the originality of everything. I know it has been changed to a distributor...

    Ammeter/generator question

Hello Just bought a 1930 model A Roadster. Car starts and ammeter sets at zero. When lights are on it goes a little to the left When I accelerate the ammeter pegs to the right. I pulled the generator cover and it still goes to 20 even with center brush pushed up all the way. Is it...
